Goblin personality

Under this pseudonym is a resident of St. Petersburg at the age of 52 years. His name is Dmitry Puchkov. He has worked and is engaged in the translation and voice acting of many modern blockbusters and hits of the past ("Reservoir Dogs", "Lock, Stock, Two Barrels", "Blade", "The Lord of the Rings" and many others). He is also the creator of a blog called Tynu40k Goblina and a site Oper.ru, in which he shares with readers his opinion about the events and phenomena taking place in the world, and also talks about the creation of one or another "correct" translation of films.

Dmitry Puchkov was born on August 2, 1961 in Kirovograd, in the family of a military man. He spent his childhood and adolescence in Leningrad, but his father's German roots played a role - Dmitry graduated from the tenth grade in Berlin. He got married in 1980. He served in the army, in the military transport aviation, where he learned to understand automotive technology. After graduating from service in 1982, until 1992 he worked alternately as a truck driver, then as a car mechanic. In 1992 he began working in the police, where he received the nickname "Goblin". He retired from service in 1998 with the rank of senior lieutenant. According to Dmitry, this was due to the fact that his wife was very successful in business and owned several stores in the center of St. Petersburg.

The first experiments with voice acting were undertaken in 1999, when Dmitry, who is fond of shooters, decided to recruit a team of programmers and localize such popular games of the time as Gorky 18, Serious Sam and Duke Nukem, where he himself dubbed many characters. The experience turned out to be successful, after which Dmitry decided to take up films.

Voice acting and translations

It was thanks to the translations that Dmitry Puchkov became known to the broad masses. Humorous distortions of the meaning of The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Boomer, etc. were disassembled for quotes by the younger generation of the early 2000s. Later, he moved away from the practice of funny translations. Now the "correct" translation means the absence of any censorship in films where there is swearing. According to Dmitry, this is how foreign films in Russian should sound.

The goblin created the now forgotten resource Megakino, where, in fact, films in the author's translation were sold. It is logical that they were all pirate and monophonic. According to the buyers of Goblin's creations, he himself packed the discs in boxes and sent them by mail. The boxes contained receipts, as if they were buying licensed products. Now Dmitry is disowning this fact. Almost all films translated by Goblin can be found on the Internet and downloaded absolutely free.

Internet activist

In Runet, although the excitement around the name of Dmitry Puchkov has died down, as the owner of the Oper.ru website, he is actively engaged in a dialogue with users and admirers of his work. Extremely dislikes distortion of Russian words, swearing on the resource and much else that goes against the created image on the network.

Due to the fact that he is one of the first heroes of the Russian part of the Internet to become famous outside the network, he is often invited to television, radio and other media as an outside expert on completely different issues. Not so long ago, he praised the activities of the Stop Ham public movement and Russia's actions towards Ukraine. Dmitry in every possible way shows everyone his love for the USSR, which is why he is often criticized by other bloggers and Internet figures.
