Childhood and youth

Each generation of people has its own idols and cult professions. In the first quarter of the 20th century, cinema was the favorite show of Russian citizens. Many boys not only watched the same tape many times, but also dreamed of appearing on the screen themselves. Lev Alexandrovich Polyakov was born on April 24, 1927 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents at that time lived in the city of Morshansk in the north of the Tambov region. My father worked as a milling machine operator at an engineering plant. Mother was engaged in sewing women's and children's clothing.

Polyakov learned to read early. Most of all he was attracted by Nekrasov's poems. The boy did well at school. He loved to perform on stage with amateur performances. Most often, Leo recited the poems of his favorite poet. Best of all in his performance the famous poem "Once upon a cold winter time" sounded. On weekends, the future actor and his friends went to the movies. In the 30s, the first sound films began to appear on the screen. For viewers accustomed to "silent" pictures, it was a real miracle.

As a teenager, Polyakov was determined to become an actor. However, it turned out to be not so easy to realize their dreams. The fact is that friends and relatives did not take his aspirations seriously. After graduating from high school, Lev, along with a friend, became a cadet of the Higher Naval School, which was based in Baku. After the third year, he interrupted his studies and left for Moscow, with the intention of getting an acting education. Luck accompanied Polyakov. On the first try, he entered the Moscow Art Theater School.

The training program turned out to be simple, but Leo did not have a relationship with his classmates. He had to quit his studies and move to Leningrad. In the city on the Neva, he served for several years in the troupe of the Bolshoi Drama Theater. The career of a talented actor was going well. But Polyakov did not receive complete satisfaction from creativity on stage. He wanted to act in films. After long doubts about the advice of his wife, Lev returned to Moscow. Here he was immediately admitted to the third year of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography. After receiving his diploma, Polyakov entered the service at the Theater-Studio of the film actor.

On the set

Polyakov played his first role in the feature film "Stories about Lenin". Lieutenant Baryshev looked very convincing in his performance. The textured appearance played an insidious joke with the actor. After this picture, Lev began to be invited to projects where the characters of the "military, handsome, hefty" were present. In the cult comedy "The Hussar Ballad" directed by Eldar Ryazanov, the actor appeared in the form of the handsome Peter Pelymov. Few of the viewers know that Polyakov during the filming process several times allowed himself to disagree with the venerable director. He did not agree and received a complete "shock". Ryazanov never invited Lev Alexandrovich to his paintings in the future.

The shrewd and observant actor Polyakov understood perfectly well that cinema is a director's art. At the same time, some directors listened to the opinion of the performers. In the film "Warrant Officer Panin" Lev Alexandrovich played a supporting role. Thanks to several phrases that were absent in the script, the image of the stern officer was remembered by the audience. Similar precedents have taken place in other films as well. For such "tips" the actor was both appreciated and disliked.

Films and awards

Soviet cinema was originally aimed at fulfilling a social order. Films were released not only for entertainment, but also to discuss problems in society. The cult comedy "The Diamond Arm" still enjoys the love of the audience. Polyakov presented in this picture the image of a stern and fair ship captain. In the historical film "Ataman Kodr", the actor played the role of a resolute and wise chieftain of the rebels who are fighting for the freedom of their native land.

In those days, the actors did not receive awards and prizes for representing the image of enemy officers. Polyakov convincingly portrayed the French marshal in the film War and Peace. And the German general in the picture "The Front Behind Enemy Lines." However, the official bodies did not leave the artists without attention. Lev Polyakov received the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR in 1988. Eight years later, he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the Russian Federation.

In the philistine environment, there are many fantasies and speculations about the personal life of the actors. The handsome and clever man Lev Polyakov has a family union once and for all. With his wife, actress Inna Vykhodtseva, he met on the student's bench. In 1954, the young people got married and lived their whole lives under one roof. The husband and wife raised and raised their son Nikita, who chose the profession of a translator.

In 1998, Nikita disappeared under mysterious circumstances in the Dominican Republic. The official version was that he died under the huge waves caused by the tsunami. The parents were unable to obtain more accurate data. This news seriously undermined the nervous system of Lev Alexandrovich. He began to get sick frequently and died in January 2001 from a stroke.
