The process of watching movies today is increasingly reduced to the fact that people just go to the Internet, type the desired name with their usual fingers and watch the selected movie online. A slightly more complicated way is to download the work you like and save it to disk. However, many still have videotapes and discs with recordings dear to their hearts. In order to properly store such films, you need to be aware of several important features.
Instructions
Step 1
Rewrite the movie in several different media. Let it be a flash drive and a disk, maybe several disks. One should be for viewing, the rest will be spare.
Step 2
Also, keep the medium on which the film was originally recorded on the spare list, especially if you have positive memories with it. For a person and his senses, the connection between non-material and material cultures is very important, and the same film, but on a different disc, will evoke completely different emotions. Leave the opportunity for your memories and after many years helpfully revive in your memory the associations associated with this particular film.
Step 3
Pay attention to the conditions under which the videotape is stored optimally. It requires retention of a certain temperature: the minimum value is 15 degrees, and the maximum value varies depending on the desired shelf life. So, if you assume that in ten years you will not need it, then you can keep the film at a temperature of 23 degrees. Otherwise, it is better to limit yourself to a mark of 19 degrees. It is optimal if the cassette is stored in a humidity range of 25% -35% (a level of 40% -55% will lead to the fact that after 10 years it will be accurately demagnetized). It is desirable that the cassette is subjected to minimal changes in temperature and humidity.
Step 4
Rewind the videotape from time to time, otherwise the skeins will "stick" to each other. Do this once a year on average.
Step 5
Store movies in dark places. Do not allow dust to enter (especially if we are not talking about videotapes, but about discs). Allocate dedicated storage space for movie discs, as movie boxes are often not always good protection against external damage.
