Actress Evgenia Filonova was called the most important Snow Maiden of the USSR. The role became the brightest in her film career and the only stellar one. Just one of the most beautiful Soviet actresses played twenty roles on the stage of the theater and only four in the cinema.
In many ways, the fate of the star resembled the life of her heroine. Evgenia Mikhailovna seemed to melt away, unable to adapt to the difficult world of theater and cinema.
The path to the vocation
The biography of the future artist began in 1946. The girl was born on March 20 in Moscow. Evgenia was the youngest in the large family of a railway driver. In addition to her, her parents raised two sisters and a brother. From childhood, the future Snow Maiden was distinguished by talent. Zhenya studied piano, became interested in singing and dancing. The girl really liked the performing arts.
None of the family was surprised when Zhenya announced that she would become an actress. Her choice was supported by all her relatives. After school, the girl entered the Shchukin school. She received an invitation to act in films already in her first year. One of their main characters, Nina, the girl played in the war drama "Chistye Prudy" in 1965.
In the story, four friends inseparable from school decided to meet at Chistye Prudy 20 years after graduation. However, young people do not know that a war will soon begin, which will undermine their plans.
Star role
The work attracted the attention of many directors to the aspiring performer. Then there was a futurist artist in the mini-series "Touches for a Portrait", a minor character.
The third work became a star. Pavel Kadochnikov was looking for an actress for the role of the Snow Maiden in the film of the same name based on the work of Ostrovsky. Seeing a blonde and fragile student, the director immediately realized that the heroine had been found. According to the memoirs of contemporaries, the girl did not play, she lived the role.
The character harmoniously combines natural external data, and energy, and an amazing dramatic talent. The heroine seemed as if copied from the image of Filonova herself.
On and off screen
The picture was waiting for an incredible success, but the aspiring artist who became a celebrity was sure that she did not attract the attention of directors. And on the set, she felt uncomfortable, despite the benevolent attitude of the whole group towards her.
The actress only took part in the work on the short film "Stop Potapov!" By Vadim Abdrashitov. This was the end of her film career.
After graduation, the girl played on the stage of the Moscow Gogol Theater. She did not fight for the main roles, maintaining equal relations with everyone.
