Sergei received his general education at the Chernigov secondary school, and studied the basics of professional skills at the Chernigov children's art school.
The boy's artistic abilities showed up early. His paintings in the Art Nouveau style amazed even connoisseurs with deep meaning, childish wisdom and philosophy. Already in childhood, Sergei was predicted a brilliant future in art. Eminent artists celebrated the extraordinary technique of drawing, special, their own style.
After leaving school, Sergei entered the Odessa Art School named after M. B. Grekov. Here he created his best paintings, his talent also attracted the attention of teachers and fellow students. Polyak's paintings delighted those around him. However, the star of the gifted artist was not given to shine for a long time. Having flared up, it was extinguished forever.

Creation
Polyak's paintings are exhibited in the Chernihiv Regional Art Museum named after G. Galagan, the Chernigov Children's Art School. Some of Sergey's works are kept by his parents.
The G. Galagan Art Museum is known far beyond the boundaries of the Chernihiv region. It was founded in 1983, in an old building built at the end of the century before last - in 1899. It is assumed that a colleague of Mazepa, who later took the side of Emperor Peter the Great, Colonel Ignatius Galagan, began to collect the art collection of the museum. The descendants continued his work, continuing to increase the number of exhibits. The greatest contribution to the development and increase of the collection was made by the famous statesman Grigory Pavlovich Galagan.
The Chernihiv Regional Art Museum named after Grigory Galagan tremulously cherishes the memory of the talented young man, arranges personal exhibitions of his paintings.
- For me, every such day is very important (about one of the days when the next exhibition of Sergei's paintings was held in the museum), admits the artist's father Fyodor Oleksandrovich. - I am grateful to these caring people who perfectly organize exhibitions, and to all the fans who are interested in my son's work. Sergei's life was short, but very bright and eventful.
Despite the fact that Sergey's life path was short, he left a rich creative legacy that found fans far beyond the borders of Ukraine. There are connoisseurs of the artist's paintings in Russia, Eastern and Western Europe, Mexico, the United States, Canada and other countries.
According to the President of the International Academy of Literature and Art of Ukraine, Ukrainian writer, journalist, public figure Serhiy Dziuba, life is measured not by the number of years lived, but by what a person has managed to accomplish, realize during his life. “People, illuminated by the spark of God, often have life, like an amazing star that flashes radiantly in the firmament and, swiftly sweeping through the Milky Way, falls to the Earth,” says Sergey Viktorovich. - The chosen ones have their own length of time. They need to do a lot, traveling the paths of perfection. Such was the fate of Sergei Polyak from Chernigov …"
Sergei's life was short but bright. After all, his paintings are the works of a mature Master, - Iryna Ralchenko, director of the Chernigov Art Museum, is sure. The Pole was equally talented and brightly able to paint landscapes, portraits and still lifes, as well as work from nature, acute psychological, with anguish, permeated with feelings.

The dogs fled, the dwarfs are tired, And the yellowed snow that cambric
It flows in the palm of your hand, because you have become more stubborn, And the abbess's fingers burn
Sharpened by the park and abandoned in the capital -
On that easel left by El Greco, Where carnival is pressed into essence and faces, In what will happen tomorrow with a person.
Hand and look, and that last one is the third
The path through asphalt and other worlds …
They lurked there, in his self-portraits, With the mournful eyes of the dead.
·
On the skin of the masks and the varnish that covered the faces -
The snow turned yellow, on the stained-glass window - involuntarily …
And the price for us is two apples, a trifle!
Pastel colors are for the deserts of history.
·
There, in the pictures, he lived to see the day
And to the wrinkles - the final fragment.
There is only starry, but, all the same, stubble
And moonlight, risorgimento winters
