Childhood and youth
Masha was born in the acting family of the famous and beloved by the audience Vasily Shukshin and Lydia Fedoseeva-Shukshina in 1967. She has two more sisters. The eldest is a daughter from her mother's first marriage and the youngest is from common parents.
Maria's creative biography began already in the year. The child appeared on television in the film "Strange People", which was filmed by Shukshin. And at the age of six, Maria participated in the directorial work of Sergei Nikonenko.
A year later, the family loses their beloved husband and father - Vasily Shukshin. Mom begins to work and tour a lot, and the girls are forced to take care of themselves and each other on their own.
Although Maria plunged into the world of cinema from an early age, she did not dream of becoming an actress, like many girls, especially in the lower grades. Mom warned her that the life of an actor is not as simple and cloudless as it might seem, and in order to succeed in a career, you need to put in a lot of efforts, which can end in complete failure. And not all actresses, even those with excellent data and talent, become successful and happy. Having listened to the advice, Maria decided that after school she would go to receive an education that would give her stability and a good financial situation in life. Therefore, the girl chose the Institute of Foreign Languages.
After receiving her diploma, Maria has been working in the organization for several years, doing translations. Knowing two languages: English and Spanish, during her work the girl also masters German and French. Then she tries to master the profession of a broker, takes courses in office work and computer literacy, but nothing brings her pleasure and joy. Soon, Shukshina decides that she needs to start trying herself in the business that her family is engaged in, and start a career in cinema.
Creative search and career
In the early 90s, Shukshina appears in several films at once. In Shakhnazarov's film American Daughter, she embodies the image of a successful woman forced to flee with her child to the United States. The next similar role was played by Pyotr Todorovsky in the film "What a wonderful game". Both films were warmly received by the audience.
The first success was followed by a break in her acting career due to the birth of a child.
Shukshina returned to filming after 2 years and played a small role in the comedy film "The Perfect Couple". And soon a new project "People and Shadows" appeared on the screens, where Shukshina plays the role of a beautiful, wayward and tough woman. By this, the actress proved to everyone that she is able to successfully transform and play diverse roles.
Maria begins to appear regularly and appear on the screens. Most of her roles are images of not ordinary women who have a strong and firm character, who are able to arrange their lives on their own and break through in any conditions. In 2015, viewers could see Shukshina in the guise of a police lieutenant colonel in the TV series "Our stranger". The plot boils down to the fact that an investigator from Moscow is appointed to the post of head of the St. Petersburg city police department, who is not immediately accepted by employees who are used to living by their own laws. When everyone finds out that the new boss is a woman, there is even greater misunderstanding and a wave of discontent. And only after the heroine Shukshina uncovers the first difficult cases, they begin to respect and appreciate her for her professionalism and firmness of character. As a result, the new chief takes his rightful place in the Department.
TV project
In the late 90s, Maria received several invitations from central television channels with an offer to become the host of new projects. Shukshina first auditioned for the show "Two", and was already approved by the management, but at that moment the shooting of the project "Wait for me" began, which seemed to Maria more significant and, together with Igor Kvasha, she became the host of this program.
For several years, the actress was a constant participant in the program, sincerely empathizing with everything that was happening, but in 2014 she decided to leave the project.
They said that the reason for the actress's departure was a difficult relationship with the channel's management, but, in fact, according to Shukshina herself, she was very tired of the constant emotional stress that was present in all episodes of the program.
Personal life
Possessing a strong, firm and strong-willed character, Maria Shukshina, like many of her film heroines, faced the difficulties of family life.
The first husband, Artem Tregubenko, studied with Maria on the same course at the institute. Soon they got married, and Shukshina had her first child - daughter Anna. The marriage lasted several years and broke up.
The actress had known her second husband Alexei Kasatkin for many years. He was a witness at their wedding with Artem. For a long time they did not see each other, and after an unexpected meeting they began an affair. Although Alexei was married at that time, this did not become an obstacle to meeting with Maria, who simply conquered the man with her beauty. Alexey divorced his wife, and after a while he and Shukshina formalized a relationship. In this marriage, a son, Makar, appeared. The divorce was scandalous. Maria accused her ex-husband of kidnapping the child, and only after the police intervened, the boy returned to his mother.
For the third time, Maria did not formally formalize her relationship, apparently, she was stopped by a not very successful previous experience of family life. Boris Vishnyakov became Shukshina's common-law husband. The couple soon had twins. This relationship also did not become ideal, and Maria herself left Boris. And again, there was a scandal. This time Maria was accused of kidnapping the children. Only over time, the couple was able to agree, and Boris began to participate in the upbringing of joint children.
