Benny Chan is a Hong Kong-based film director, film producer and screenwriter. He has been nominated for the Hong Kong Film Awards 5 times. His most famous films are "Who am I?", "New Police Story" and "Shaolin".
Biography
Benny Chan was born on October 7, 1961. Born in Hong Kong, China, Chan was educated at Raymond College. He graduated with a BA in Social Science from Lingnan University. Benny does not advertise his personal life.
Career and creativity
Chan fell in love with cinema since childhood. Back in 1981, he worked for the Hong Kong television station Rediffusion. He then worked for TVB. Chan was promoted to assistant director Johnny To. In 1985 he was promoted to director's chair. Chan directed 2 drama television series early in his career. Since 1987, he stopped working on the TV channel and continued his career in cinema. At first he worked as an assistant director. Among his projects were films: "Goodbye Darling" by Raymond Wong, filmed in 1987, and "Fatal Love" by Po-Chin Leong, which came out in 1988. After a year, Chan returned to TVB and worked as a producer and director.
His first feature film is Moments of Love. It was released in 1990. The picture was accepted by viewers and film critics. In the 90s, Chan worked in both film and television. He has worked with Jackie Chan in Who Am I ?, New Police Story, Rob-B-Hood and Shaolin.
