Since the release of the first King Kong in 1933, no other remake has been able to replicate its success. However, the last film version of the acclaimed blockbuster, released in 2005, became considered the best version of the plot about a huge monkey, largely due to the special effects involved in the film.
Instructions
Step 1
The motion picture King Kong was directed by Peter Jackson in 2003-2005. Thus, he realized an old childhood dream to reshoot and brighten up the sensational black-and-white film of the same name, released on large screens more than 70 years ago. The picture, together with the worldwide collection, has collected more than five hundred million US dollars.
Step 2
The first work on the film in 2003 began with a sculptural direction. Famous sculptors worked on a model of the face of the main character of the movie - King Kong, a huge monkey. The animal's body was based on a skeleton, on which a special muscular system was sewn.
Step 3
The gorilla's body cover was created from millions of artificial hairs of incredible size. In order for the hair to move during the shooting, specialists-deformers were involved in the work, who could, with the help of special devices, change the shape of each bundle of hair on the gorilla's body.
Step 4
Peter Jackson was helped by actor Andy Serkis, who played Gollum in The Lord of the Rings, in the work on "revitalizing" the huge doll. The actor already had a similar job, it only remained to take a few lessons at the London Zoo, where he observed the movements of gorillas and copied them.
Step 5
All the movements of the future gorilla were recorded in the pavilion, in which numerous cameras were located along the perimeter. The movements of the face, body, legs, hands of the actor were captured and recorded by cameras. As a result of computer processing of the recordings, the huge doll was successfully animated.
Step 6
In many of the gorilla shots, you can see many additional digital elements that have been added by the animators and artists of the picture. Such as a splash of water, flying earth from under the clutches of Kong, vegetation, houses, cars, ships were "added to" city shots.
Step 7
As we know, from the special effects not only Kong was in the frames of the new television movie, the director's studio also prepared various inhabitants adjacent to the characters of the tape in the frame, more than fifty separate "pieces" of the island, created on a scale of 1 to 10, so that you can get more details show the picture.
Step 8
The old ship of 1956 was restored especially for the filming of the film. For individual shots, mock-ups of the ship were used to make it more convenient for the director to capture some moments during a strong roll.
Step 9
It is impossible not to mention the famous computer program Massive, which helped to shoot massive shots. Thanks to her, the number of people (for example, in the theater) in the frame could be increased from 300 real to 2,200 thousand.
