Mikhei, or Sergei Krutikov, was a popular Russian singer who performed rap, reggae and soul songs. Micah was also a co-founder and former member of the Bad Balance group, for which he wrote his own music in the 1990s. Subsequently, he concentrated on his solo project with the Jumanji group, calling it Micah and Jumanji and releasing his only solo album, Love Bitch.
Micah's biography
Sergey Krutikov was born on December 11, 1970 in Ukrainian Donetsk. He got his first musical experience when he discovered an accordion at home, on which a novice musician honed his skills as a future star. For two years Sergei studied at a music school, but he became disillusioned and left it, enrolling in a Russian music school after graduating from the eighth grade.
At the music school, in the rhythm section, Sergei studied for only two months, having entered the metallurgical technical school after him.
After spending four months in a technical school, Sergei habitually left its walls and went to a vocational school, to study as an adjuster of automatic lines with numerical control. While studying at a vocational school, he worked as an actor at the Artyom Theater, and after graduating from vocational school he left for Leningrad, where he entered the Higher Trade Union School of Culture. Then Sergei was waiting for the Leningrad University, which he finally graduated from and finally moved to Moscow.
Micah's career and death
After leaving the Bad Balance group due to a conflict with Vlad Valov, Mikhay began to actively work on his own solo project. The name for his new group - "Jumanji" - he borrowed from the cult adventure film, in which his favorite actor Robin Williams played the main role. Mikhey took his school friend Alexander to the position of director of "Jumanji", later other friends of Mikhei who played with him in Bad Balance joined the group - bass player Bruce and dance director Monya.
According to Micah, in the music of Bad Balance he lacked the melody to which he always gravitated, despite his love of rap.
Mikhei's debut album with Jumanji - Love Bitch - became very successful. The songs from it were popular hits and brought Mikhey the status of the best Russian performer in 1999. The group began an active tour, Mikhei recorded a remake of the song "We are the Children of the Big City" together with its author Sergei Galanin and even thought about returning to Bad Balance. However, in June 2002, a misfortune happened to the singer - he suffered a severe stroke and died four months later.
The talented performer was buried at the Vagankovsky cemetery. For twelve years in a row, its director, Alexander Ovrutsky, has been holding annual evenings dedicated to the memory of his friend Mikhei, who did not manage to show the world all the innermost depths of his musical soul.
