The charming, charismatic and romantic actor literally immediately after appearing on the screens attracted the attention of the audience. Although he has played most of his roles in TV shows, he has a huge following who closely follow Hugh's life.

Dancy never dreamed of becoming an actor, he was going to become a linguist. But fate prepared Hugh a completely different path. And today he is one of the famous representatives of the acting profession.

Childhood and adolescence

The boy was born in the summer of 1975 in England. His father was a philosopher, a representative of one of the scientific societies. Mom worked as a publisher and ran her own business. Dancy has a sister who now works for a charitable foundation and a brother who runs a travel business.

During his childhood, Hugh was never interested in a career in film or theater. Theatrical performances in which he took part during his school years were his punishment for bad behavior or academic performance. Parents literally forced the boy to go to the theater club in order for him to become more disciplined.

Gradually, Dancy began to like performing on stage, in the end he really got carried away with the theater and was already going to enter a theater studio. But the father was categorically against acting as his son's profession. Therefore, immediately after graduation, Hugh went to get an education at Oxford, where he began to study literature and linguistics.

The young man did not lose his desire to perform on stage even during his years of study at the university. Immediately after receiving his diploma, he makes the final decision to become an actor and moves to London.

Gradually he begins to receive more and more significant roles and finally he gets the main role of D'Artagnan in the film "The Musketeers", based on the novel by A. Dumas. The picture was released in 2001, but was not successful.

In the next film, Ella Enchanted, he again gets the romantic role of a noble and handsome prince, after which the fans literally began to go crazy with Dancy.
