The Muz-TV 2012 music award ceremony took place on June 1 at the Moscow Olympic Stadium. The main goal of the award was to summarize the results of the activities of Russian musicians over the past ten years.

Step 1
The award ceremony was a kind of concert of the best, in the opinion of the organizers and members of the jury, compositions of the decade. These songs were performed not by the original performers, but by their colleagues. So, the group "VIA Gra" sang a cover version of the song "White Dragonfly of Love" by Nikolai Voronov, and the group "Band'Eros" changed the famous song of Splin "My Heart" to their motive.

In 2012, 11 silver plates were awarded - prizes of the Muz-TV award in 11 nominations. The best performer was Dima Bilan, the best performer was the singer Elka. Nyusha, "Degrees", "Band'Eros", "Animals", "Vintage", "Disco Crash" and Kristina Orbakaite, Philip Kirkorov and Max Barskikh also received awards. In addition, five additional awards were presented: Igor Krutoy for his contribution to the development of the music industry, Zemfira as the best performer of the decade, Philip Kirkorov as the best performer of the decade, etc.

Traditionally, the award could not pass without scandals, and 2012 was no exception. Initially, Ksenia Sobchak and Andrei Malakhov were planned as presenters, but a week before the award, they were replaced by Vyacheslav Manucharov. As Ksenia admitted in an interview, she was removed from the show for political reasons due to pressure on the channel's leadership. Andrey Malakhov did not stand aside and, supporting his girlfriend, voluntarily refused to conduct the Muz-TV 2012 music awards ceremony.
Step 4
After the ceremony, a new scandal erupted, this time between Philip Kirkorov and rapper Timati. The latter, using his account on one of the social networks, said that he did not understand the choice of the jury and the results of the vote. Kirkorov reacted to this, as a result, a serious scandal broke out between the musicians, in which many show business figures were involuntarily involved. On the air of one of the TV programs dedicated to the past award and the conflict between Kirkorov and Timati, in particular, the presenter Vyacheslav Manucharov said on behalf of the management of the Muz-TV channel that the award would be closed in 2013.
