One of the most odious personalities of modern domestic theater, cinema and television - Vladimir Georgievich Epifantsev - followed in the footsteps of his father, who instilled innovative ideas in the culture and art of our country back in Soviet times. In his acting career, he is best known for his characters from the underworld or the number of law enforcement officials, but in both cases they have a certain bewitching and unforgettable charm.
A popular actor, director, TV presenter and clip-maker with a pleasant, memorable appearance and unique charisma - Vladimir Epifantsev - has become an active continuation of the traditions of European experimental theater in our country and very much succeeded in this endeavor. Having graduated from the Shchukin Theater School with a degree in acting and the directing department of GITIS, this famous artist today creates not only talented characters, but also projects demanded by the audience.
Biography and career of Vladimir Georgievich Epifantsev
On September 8, 1971, the future idol of millions of Russian fans was born in a metropolitan artistic family (his father is a famous Moscow theater and film actor, and his mother is an economist and theater artist). From childhood, Vova was perfectly adapted to the theatrical stage, since at the age of three the boy was brought to his native Moscow Art Theater named after A. P. Chekhov by his father.
However, the violent temper of a teenager and a young man who lived in a not very quiet area of Moscow (Tushino) and was known as a rebel with long hair and listening to Western rock music, repeatedly brought him to the children's room of the police. It was the willpower and suggestions of his parents that encouraged him to go in for sports and "quit with the murney."
After graduating from high school, Epifantsev Jr. moved to a school for working youth and worked at a factory for two years. And then there was "Pike" (course of Vladimir Ivanov), since he was not accepted into his own Moscow Art Theater School because of the innovator-father, who caused a negative reaction from the leadership of that time. In 1994, Vladimir, with a diploma on the acting qualifications of his first university, goes to study at GITIS, where he receives a second thematic education at the directing department from Pyotr Fomenko.
An interesting fact is the situation that arose in 2008 at the "Phoenix Film", when Epifantsev refused to participate in the continuation of the filming of the film "Two from the Casket", justifying his decision by the living conditions at the production site. By decision of the Khoroshevsky court in Moscow, he paid huge compensation as a forfeit, for which he had to sell the capital's apartment and car.
In parallel with his studies at GITIS, Epifantsev organized his theatrical project "Prok-Theater", using the abandoned premises of the cardboard factory. Since 1994, the number of his theatrical projects has been steadily growing, among which the productions Jesus Cried, The Ball of the Plague, and Romeo and Juliet evoke controversial reactions. Playing the main roles in his performances, Vladimir gained immense popularity among the audience because of the avant-garde approach to art.
Epifantsev's television debut took place in 1997 with the "Sandman" program, where he became the presenter. And then there were the popular for their time "Muzoboz", "Cultivator" and "As in the cinema". It was in the last project in tandem with Maxim Drozd on the NTV channel that each separate issue of the sensational documentary cycle was illustrated with extreme situations, when people, overcoming deadly conditions, saved their own and other people's lives.
In 1999, Vladimir Epifantsev first declared himself in the cinema as an actor in the arthouse project "Green Elephant". And then a series of successful film works followed, where he appeared at the audience's court in characteristic characters: “Border. Taiga Novel "(2000)," Turkish March "(2002)," Antikiller 2: Anti-Terror "(2003)," Mom, Don't Cry 2 "(2005)," Lucky "(2006)," Invincible "(2008), "Escape" (2010), "Generation P" (2011), "Flint" (2012), "Fierce" (2013), "Killer Whale" (2014), "Capture" (2015), "Own Alien" (2015), "Elastico" (2016), "Children for Rent" (2017), "Indestructible" (2018), "New Man" (2018).
The actor's latest films include his characters in the TV series Black Dog and the comedy All or Nothing.
Personal life of the artist
Actress Anastasia Vedenskaya, whom Vladimir Epifantsev met at the Shchukin school, became his only wife today. In this marriage, sons were born: Gordey (2004) and Orpheus (2008), who were baptized in the temple of Sophia the Wisdom of God. It is noteworthy that Ivan Okhlobystin became the godfather.
In 2016, the spouses had a relationship crisis associated with mutual accusations of treason. Until now, their breakup has not been officially legalized, but even the eldest son Gordey insists on divorce in the registry office, since the increased attention due to the scandal spoils the life of his sons very much.
