Up to 100,000 people come to Los Angeles every year to become Hollywood stars. Dozens, sometimes hundreds, “survive” in the face of such fierce competition. Only a few are the stars of the movie screen. Maybe you are one of them?
Instructions
Step 1
Graduate from one of the country's theater or cinema universities. Even in your senior years, try (if this does not contradict the charter of the university or the conditions of the mentors) to act in extras. To get into the frame in crowd scenes, sometimes it is enough to regularly read ads, for example, on the website https://birza-truda.ru or on the official websites of Russian film companies. It is possible that your type will be liked by the assistant director for personnel (now he can be called, for example, casting manager) when selecting applicants - and your role. However, even if your plans do not include obtaining a diploma from a specialized university, you can also try to go to the casting, especially if you need mass scene actors of your type
Step 2
When gaining experience in the frame, try to fully meet all the requirements of the director. As with any job, a beginner needs to show his best side. Do not try with all your might to attract the attention of site workers: in the end, you will simply be shown the door. On the contrary, when the same director launches another project, he will be more likely to be interested in obedient performers than eccentric newcomers.
Step 3
Even if you have been offered a role with words, assess your strengths soberly and do not take to work if you are not sure you can handle it. At the initial stage of your film career, any mistake leads to the fact that you will have to say goodbye to the dream of appearing on TV screens forever.
Step 4
Work for a few years playing small roles (with and without words). If during this time not a single Russian director paid enough attention to you, then acting is not for you. You can go to Hollywood only when you have at least one or two notable roles in your acting baggage (albeit a supporting one). In parallel, be sure to go in for sports. Firstly, in this way you will maintain your physical shape, and secondly, both in ours and in the world film industry, actors who know how to control their bodies in the most critical situations are valued an order of magnitude higher. And don't forget about regular English lessons (preferably in the American version).
Step 5
If you are lucky enough to star in one or two notable Russian films, you can start storming Hollywood. But keep in mind: in America you will have to start your film career from scratch. However, your undoubted advantage will be the experience of working on the cinema site, since almost all Russian films are now shot using American technologies.
Step 6
Find yourself a decent casting agent if possible. He will be able to help you join the Screen Actors Guild or another union of actors, without membership in which it is impossible to participate in a more or less decent project, even in a cameo role. Remember that Russian actors are usually offered roles that are far from the glittering images of Hollywood celestials.
