Vancouver, British Columbia and even Baton Rouge in Louisina - these are the places that have become cherished for fans of the movie "Twilight" and other parts of the famous saga - "Eclipse", "Full Moon" and both parts of "Breaking Dawn". They filmed the picture both in places inaccessible to "mere mortals", and in quite recognizable ones - for example, Italian Montepulciano. But first things first.

The main characters of the film
The main characters of the film

So, Bella, the young heroine of the film, comes to her father in the foggy town of Forks, where she meets Edward Cullen, a young man with mysterious big eyes that amazed her with his mystery. These two are attracted to each other with such force that it no longer matters that one of the lovers is a vampire, and the other is a fragile girl who can die at any moment. A dramatic and passionate story set against the backdrop of lush green forests and mountains, the film's magnificent and incomparable scenery.

From Canada to the States

These scenes were created in the United States of America, namely in Oregon and Washington. It is on the border of these two states, in Kalama, that the school where Bella and Edward met is located, and not at all in Forks, and it is called Kalama High School. The house where Bella and her father lived is in the city of St. Helens - as well as the alley where Edward's chosen one was attacked by bullies. The house in which the Cullens lived and where Edward (everything is like people!) Brings Bella to meet his family, in fact, is not alone. In each part of "Twilight" it was recreated. The very first was built in Vancouver, a Canadian city known worldwide for the 2014 Winter Olympics. But the filmmakers chose to shoot many of the natural scenes in the state of Oregon, the outskirts of Portland, known for its magnificent nature. The connoisseurs of this region probably recognized on the screen the Stone Cliff Inn, a terrace at the foot of the cliff. It was there that Edward for the first time openly and frighteningly tells Bella the whole truth about himself, shows the sparkle of his skin. Scenes of roe deer hunting were also filmed there.

Not far from the town of Canon Beach, in Indian Beach, is La Push Beach, where teenagers from school in Forks frolicked in the first part. Edward, as the viewers of the saga remember, refused to go there, but the Indians from the reservation felt like full-fledged owners on the beach and in the vicinity.

Against the backdrop of scenery

Shooting Twilight, which took place on such a large geographical scale, was energetic and fun, according to the press. Connoisseurs of the film noticed a lot of inconsistencies in the picture, in other words, blunders, but this did not make it less sweet to them. Fans have forgiven the authors of "Twilight" and the slight artificiality, and the obvious interference of computer programs - what kind of magic without modern technology? The heroes of the film fly and climb unimaginable heights using cranes, ropes and climbing equipment. These "attributes" came in handy during the scene of the game of baseball, when real vampires-predators came out to the clearing to the Cullens. By the way, their spectacular flying gait was created using treadmill simulators. But this is another facet of the film that deserves a separate story …
