Stephen Lange is an American tetra and film actor, screenwriter and producer. He began his creative career in 1985, starring in more than one hundred and twenty films and TV series. For several years he was one of the leaders of the Actors Studio in New York. Audiences know Lang well for his roles in Avatar, Toomstone, Last Exit to Brooklyn, Don't Breathe, Chronicles of Predatory Cities and Terra Nova.
Despite his age, Lang continues to be active in his creative work. Huge success brought the actor the role of Colonel Miles Quaritch in the famous film "Avatar". In 2017, the director of the film J. Cameron announced that he was starting work on the sequel to the film, where Lang would again receive one of the main roles, however, like all the other participants in the first part.
early years
Stephen was born in the USA in the summer of 1952. His father was a successful entrepreneur and became famous for the fact that his entire fortune, numbering more than one hundred and fifty million dollars, bequeathed to a charity, thereby leaving his own children without an inheritance. The father believed that his children, like himself, should achieve everything in life on their own and not rely on the help of even their parents.
Stephen has an older brother and sister who have nothing to do with creativity. My sister received a law degree and became a lawyer, and my brother became the head of one of the financial companies.
Stephen received his primary education in a regular school located in Jamaica. In high school, he was sent to a boarding school in Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school, Lange entered college, where he earned a master's degree in English literature.
Theatrical career
Already while studying in college, Stephen became interested in theater and immediately after receiving his diploma decided to try himself as an actor. He got a job at one of the local theaters, where he soon became one of the leading performers. For his role in The Speed of Darkness, he received the prestigious Tony Theater Award, followed by many more art awards.
Lange worked for several years at the New York Theater Studio. There he taught acting, and then became one of its leaders.
Film career
Lang's biography as an actor began in 1985. He landed a role in Death of a Salesman, appearing on set with famous actors Dustin Hoffman and John Malkovich. The next film, where Stephen played a reporter for a crime chronicle, was called "Human Hunter." It is noteworthy that it was in this picture that the famous character Hannibal Lecter appeared on the screen for the first time, who helped the reporter in the investigation of a number of crimes.
On the territory of the country, Lang became famous for his role in the film "The Last Turn to Brooklyn". The actor was supposed to be nominated for an Oscar, but in the end he was not included in the list of contenders. Then Stephen starred for a long time in the popular TV series Law & Order, which made him famous not only in the United States, but also outside the country.

Personal life
Stephen is an exemplary family man and a loving father. Costume designer Christina Watson became his wife. The couple has been living happily for almost forty. Stephen and Christina have four children: two girls and two boys.
Now Lang is 66 years old, but he is in excellent physical shape, constantly trains according to his own method, attends the gym and leads a healthy lifestyle.
