Tornadoes are also frequent on the territory of Russia, especially in its southern and central regions, as well as in the Far East. However, as the history of meteorology testifies, a tornado can form almost anywhere in the world.

Step 1
Listen carefully to weather reports in your area, especially in summer. Forecasters will definitely report an impending storm and / or squally wind, which are the harbingers or satellites of the tornado.
Step 2
If you have a private house, constantly monitor the condition of the residential building and outbuildings. Pay particular attention to the condition of the roofs of these buildings. Reinforce the cellar with concrete blocks, but so that, in the event of a collapse or movement of the house, you will not be trapped.
Step 3
If you live in an apartment, check the condition of the window frames and door frames so that if you cannot hide from a tornado in the basement (for example, due to the lack of one in many modern houses), you should be relatively safe indoors. Free loggias and balconies from things and especially explosive objects (for example, gasoline or LPG cylinders).
Step 4
If the radio reports on an impending storm and the possibility of a tornado, close all doors and windows and lie on the floor, under a bed or under a closet if there is no way to go down to the cellar or basement. Do not forget to de-energize the electrical network and turn off the gas.
Step 5
If a tornado finds you on the street, immediately run to the nearest room and take cover there. Avoid light buildings, power lines, bridges. Try not to hide near parks, rivers and lakes. Use cardboard or plastic boxes, plywood sheets, etc. to protect against flying glass fragments, tree branches and debris. You will be incredibly lucky if at this time you will be literally a few steps from the metro.
Step 6
If you notice a tornado while in the car, immediately get out of it and take cover in a building or basement or, if you are out of town, in hollows, ditches and narrow ravines. Stay away from ponds and trees, cover your head while moving at least with clothes.
