Instructions
Step 1
When an earthquake strikes, try to remain calm and not panic. As soon as you feel the first hesitation or tremor, act immediately. The sooner you record the initial moment of the earthquake, the more chances you will have of saving your own life and the lives of those around you.
Step 2
If you are on the lower floors of a building, leave immediately and try to move to an open area. If you stayed in the building, go to the safest place. Stand in the opening of interior doors or away from load-bearing walls. Try to keep your distance from windows and bulky objects. Avoid being near walls inside a building. When outside, move away from the outside walls.
Step 3
Roll out of bed if an earthquake hits you there. The safest thing to do is to lie on the floor next to your bed. If you are unable to leave the building, lie down on the floor curled up. It has been noticed that many animals instinctively take exactly this posture. When in the office, it is best to hide under a sturdy desk.
Step 4
When in a high-rise structure, do not rush to flights of stairs or elevators. All exits can be filled with people, and electrical problems can disable elevators. During an earthquake, do not stand on the steps. This is the most fragile element in the building. Even if the stairs are intact, they can collapse under the weight of people who have accumulated on the flights.
Step 5
On the street, do not stay near tall buildings, bridges and overpasses and power lines.
Step 6
If you are in a vehicle, leave it. And it is better to be in a position lying next to him, on the ground.
Step 7
Check the presence of victims around you, when a rescue team appears, be sure to notify them of this. Provide help if possible.
Step 8
If you live in an earthquake-prone area, put the necessary things (documents, first-aid kit) into a bag in advance, keep it ready.
