Unfortunately, meeting an aggressive dog is not that uncommon. Moreover, both a wild homeless dog and a thoroughbred dog walking with the owner can attack a person. And no matter how positively we treat our smaller brothers, suddenly the need for self-defense from an angry animal may arise. Therefore, you need to know some rules that will help you cope with the aggressor with the least loss for yourself.
When can a dog attack a person
The beast is set by the owner; this is the rarest, but also the most dangerous case, since a trained dog is trained to dodge oncoming blows and can cope even with an armed person.
The dog felt that you were threatening its owner.
The dog is angry about something: a drunk person, a cyclist or a runner, a person making sudden movements, etc.;
Rabid animal - rushes at everything and everyone.
Ways to confront an aggressive dog
It is strictly forbidden to show fear to the dog - animals can smell adrenaline from a few meters away! On the other hand, it is also not worth showing humanity and feeling pity for an aggressive animal - you need to act no less aggressively, because your health and even life are at risk! There is such a psychological trick: at the moment of the attack, you need to imagine that it was not a dog that attacked you, but a man of small stature with knives in each hand.
You should never flee from an angry dog - it still won't work! And the flickering of legs will only further embitter the animal. In no case should you turn your back on the animal, since the dogs in the overwhelming majority of cases attack from behind.
One of the ways to stop the dog's aggression is to give the dog the command "No!" Loudly and imperiously. You can growl menacingly at an animal, always showing it your teeth.
If the dog attacks from the front and is already ready to jump, you should put forward one hand, clenched into a fist, and with the other hand try to grab the dog by the neck from behind and make a jerk.
If it becomes necessary to defend, various objects can be used: bottles, sticks, stones, etc. It should be remembered that the most painful points in a dog are the nose and bridge of the nose, as well as the middle of the back and abdomen - sometimes a good blow to this area may be enough for the animal to retreat.
If nothing is at hand, you will have to use your own clothes - take off your coat, jacket or shirt and try to throw it over the dog's face. This will give a few seconds for some defensive action - for example, pinning the dog to the ground and strangling it slightly.
You should be aware that the dog is always looking at the place that it is going to grab onto. Therefore, you need to try to calculate its actions and dodge with a deceitful movement, knock the animal down and press it to the ground (or hit).
If the dog intends to grab onto the hand, make quick circular movements with the hand, and it will be difficult for the animal to grab it. And it is better not to attack the dog yourself, but to try to dodge and move back and to the side - perhaps the aggressor will lose the desire to attack.
If the animal nevertheless attacked and grabbed, then you can apply the following technique: put your index and thumb in the recesses under the jaw, on both sides of the trachea, and squeeze these recesses strongly - a painful hold, the dog will lose self-control. For prevention purposes, it would be a good idea to ask dog friends to show you where these pain points are on peaceful pets.
If meetings with aggressive dogs happen regularly, then it would be nice to stock up on special means - for example, an ultrasonic device "Antidog", a stun gun, a can of pepper mixture. All these funds will help drive the beast away without causing much damage to it. You can independently make a mixture in a 1: 1 ratio from the most low-quality tobacco, pounded into dust, and ground hot pepper, pour the mixture into a small bowl and always have it with you; in the event of an attack by a dog, pour it sharply into its face.
But the best thing is to never get into such situations!
