The modern Russian army consists of conscripts and contract servicemen. The desire of guys to get into the army elite and become, for example, a paratrooper or a marine, does not always turn into reality. The decision about which troops the conscript is best served in is made by completely different people.

Before dreaming about where exactly to go to serve and whether to serve at all, a conscript should find out what types and types of troops there are in the Russian Armed Forces. It is curious that there are three of them in the country. The clans are the Strategic Missile Forces (Strategic Missile Forces), the Aerospace Defense Forces and the Airborne Forces (Airborne Forces), which are considered the elite of the Airborne Forces. The so-called buyers - soldiers and officers from various units who come to military commissariats and select recruits solely at their discretion - also contribute to the destruction of the dream of a potential paratrooper about the sky or a graduate of a children's nautical club about a ship.

Of course, there is no official ranking of the best or worst types and types of troops. But there are as many unofficial ones as you like. The most prestigious include, in particular, the landing force, border troops, marines, various special forces, reconnaissance battalions, and the navy. But there are not too many people who want to get into the construction battalion or the Internal Troops, with all due respect to them, even if only for a year. However, the location of the military unit is also of great importance. After all, there is a big difference in service in the very Far East or in the area of the Moscow Prospect Mira. Choosing a military profession, it is better to pay special attention not to the notorious rating, but to conformity to your dream. And if you managed to grow up to two meters, alas, they will not take you as a paratrooper, or a tanker, or a submariner. How naive it is to expect to become a Marine, not being able to swim and pull up on the bar.

The most fortunate in terms of future conscription are Russian professional athletes. Once upon a time, in the days of the USSR and the Central Sports Club of the Army, which had tremendous authority, they did not even want to serve a year or two years in a sports company, appearing there only for oath and retirement and continuing to win gold medals at the most prestigious competitions, but dreamed of many high-class Soviet athletes.
