Childhood
Clara Novikova was born in Kiev in 1946. Her father, Boris Hertser, was the director of a shoe store and kept the whole family at bay. Clara's mother Polina ran the household and obeyed her husband in everything. And the children, Klara and her brother Leonid, were brought up in severity and received belts for any offense.
Since childhood, Klara attended the theater studio and found in it an outlet from her father's strict upbringing. But not only from troubles in the family, the girl escaped in a theatrical circle. Since childhood, Klara desperately loved the stage, and the stage reciprocated her.
Education
After school, Klara entered the famous Kiev studio of circus and variety art. The father was strongly opposed to this idea of his daughter, so the girl packed her bags and moved to Moscow.
In Moscow, Klara Novikova entered GITIS and studied quite successfully. At the All-Union competition of pop artists, the girl was noticed by Arkady Raikin himself and handed her the main prize.
After graduating from GITIS, Klara Novikova went to work at the Mosconcert and gained real popularity.

Personal life
For the first time, the actress got married back in Kiev as a student at a circus school. Her choice fell on classmate Boris Novikov, later a famous Kiev musician. The marriage quickly fell apart, but thanks to him, Klara Herzer became Klara Novikova, and this surname served her faithfully for many years.
Later, the actress remarried journalist Yuri Zerchaninov. The marriage was happy, the couple lived in perfect harmony. In this union, the only daughter of Klara Novikova, Maria, was born, who followed in her father's footsteps and chose the profession of a journalist. Now Maria teaches at the university.
But in 2009, Yuri passed away. The actress was very upset by the death of her husband and, possibly, because of this, she fell ill with breast cancer. Thank God, the disease was overcome thanks to the doctors and caring friends of Klara. Now the actress is a happy grandmother of three grandchildren, and this fills her life with meaning.
