Parcel post is a postal item with light weight and limited dimensions. It can be sent without the hard cardboard box-like packaging. Usually, printed publications are sent by parcel: books, magazines, notebooks, manuscripts, albums or photographs. You can also send a small and fragile item: a box, a textile product.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure that the item you intend to send does not exceed 2 kg for domestic mail and 5 kg for overseas mail. The minimum permissible size of such a shipment is 105x148 mm with a thickness of no more than 0.1 m, the maximum limits the total amount of length, width and height 90 cm. The minimum weight of the parcel is 100 g. The total cost of everything that you send by parcel should not exceed 10 thousand rubles.
Step 2
In the nearest post office, purchase a special plastic bag "Russian Post" for parcels and other small attachments. Carefully fill in the recipient and sender address by placing the package on a flat, stable surface. It is covered with matte paint and therefore a regular ballpoint pen is quite suitable for making the necessary inscriptions.
Step 3
Fold everything that you want to send by parcel neatly. Wrap it in a regular transparent bag or wrap it in paper for better fixation and preservation. Place the wrapped in a signed plastic bag. If you want to send a parcel post with a declared value, do not remove the tape that protects the adhesive layer on the flap of the envelope and carry it open to the post office. If the parcel has no declared value, the package can be sealed by removing the protective tape.
Step 4
Before sending a parcel with a declared value, ask in the mail for an attachment inventory form, fill it out, indicating the value of each item sent in this parcel. The receiver must check the compliance of the attachment with the inventory you submitted and seal the plastic bag with his own hand.
Step 5
At the post office they will weigh your parcel, make sure that its weight and dimensions correspond to the required ones, and calculate the cost of postage. After payment, you will receive a receipt confirming this fact. Keep it until the addressee informs that he has safely received your parcel.
