The film "Stone" directed by Vyacheslav Kaminsky is a Russian thriller. For the audience, it is interesting mainly because the hero was played by the popular comedian Sergei Svetlakov. Many decided to go to the picture precisely in order to see how a member of Our Russia and Comedy Club will cope with the serious role of a negative character.

Step 1
The plot of the film is simple, but rather scary. The main character, Peter, played by Svetlakov, comes to a playground in a shopping center and kidnaps a boy - the son of a major businessman who owns this center. He takes the child to his mansion on the river bank, hides in the basement and waits. Meanwhile, the boy's mother and father are rushing about in panic, unable to find the missing son.
Step 2
After some time, Peter calls the distraught businessman. And then it turns out that the kidnapper is not at all interested in the ransom. He says that he will return the boy safe and sound only in one case - if the father is ready to exchange his life for the life of the child. That is, the maniac puts a condition on the man to commit suicide in a day in the very center of the city.
Step 3
Thus, the father is faced with a terrible choice. But not only he - until the very end of the picture, the viewer does not know what the boy's mother will do. She can kill her husband in the name of saving the child. It must be said that, although not immediately, the spouses understand that the purpose of the criminal is to make them enemies while their son is facing death.
Step 4
The offender constantly calls and hints that by his act he wants to cut some knot of fate. The businessman frantically tries to remember what he did wrong to whom, why this story happened to him. The motives of the kidnapper gradually become clear. It turns out that everything is caused by childhood trauma - the hero was brought up in an orphanage, was humiliated by teachers, was raped. And now, in some strange way, he wants to restore justice.
Step 5
However, mental pathologies are present not only in the kidnapper, but also in the victim - the boy's father. And the latter was like that from the very beginning. The director leads the audience to the idea that both characters from the very beginning behaved in such a way that they inevitably found themselves in such a desperate situation for each. The unexpected ending of the film makes you think and allows you to see elements of art house in the picture.
