Khabib Nurmagomedov is the reigning lightweight champion of Russia and the world in MMA (mixed martial arts). He declared himself as a strong and noble fighter, becoming a real idol among fans of this sport.

Khabib Nurmagomedov was born on September 20, 1988 in the small village of Sildi, located in Dagestan. From early childhood, he was brought up in a family that appreciated sports, and from the age of five he began to engage in freestyle wrestling. At the age of 12, Khabib and his parents moved to Makhachkala. The father enrolled his son in a sports camp under the guidance of a professional wrestler Saidakhmed Magomedov. The boy enthusiastically learned all the subtleties of sports, trying in everything to be equal to his idol - the Russian athlete Fedor Emelianenko.
Khabib learned about fighting without rules from the movies, immediately burning with the desire to master this difficult and dangerous, but extremely demanded and popular direction. My father insisted on continuing to practice wrestling and advised him to master the technique of judo. So Khabib began to study with the famous trainer Jafar Jafarov. Later he took up sambo, becoming a real specialist in various martial arts.
At the age of 20, the first serious fight of a young athlete took place, and his exciting path to world fame began. In just three years, he has earned over 15 awards in various competitions, becoming the champion of Russia, Europe and the whole world. Khabib was gladly accepted into their ranks by the sports companies M-1, ProFC and TFC, defining him in the light weight category (with a height of 177 cm, the weight of an athlete is 70 kg).

When Khibib Nurmagomedov turned 23, he received an invitation from the largest American organization for mixed martial arts UFC, which conducts fights with the participation of the strongest fighters. So the whole world learned about the young man from Dagestan. He defeated such eminent athletes as Thiago Tavares, Kamal Shalorus, Glayson Tibau and Pat Healy. In all fights, he demonstrated an amazing technique in the standing position and on the ground, winning with knockouts or painful holds.
Nurmagomedov's rating on the UFC list soared to the top positions. Stubborn preparations began for fights with the true stars of world sports, and the triumph again did not take long: Rafael Dus Anjus, one of the strongest MMA fighters, obeyed Hibibu. The fight with another famous fighter Tony Ferguson had to be postponed due to an unexpected injury.
Having restored his strength, Khibib Nurmagomedov managed to defeat Michael Johnson. By this time, the public was already in full expectation of a grandiose fight between the Dagestani and the champion from Ireland Conor McGregor, but for this it is necessary to win against Tony Ferguson, with whom the fight has not yet taken place.
The relationship between Nurmagomedov and McGregor rapidly deteriorated: both athletes are famous for their hot anger, which immediately made itself felt. The boiling point was the attack by McGregor and his team on the bus with Nurmagomedov in early 2018. The instigator of the fight was arrested, and the Dagestani won another significant victory, defending the champion title in a fight with the American El Iaquinta.

The personal life of Khabib Nurmagomedov almost always remains behind a veil of secrecy. He tries to be faithful to Muslim traditions, leads a modest and healthy lifestyle, not letting the public get too close to himself and those close to him. He recently played a wedding in the Dagestan traditions: the bride was dressed in a dress with a thick veil, and her name was not disclosed. Later, the couple had a daughter.
It is known that Khabib's father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov became the champion of Ukraine in freestyle wrestling in the 90s, and his uncle Nurmagomed Nurmagomedov has a champion title in sports sambo. Khabib also has a younger brother, Abubakar, who also became a professional athlete.
