Mikhail Filippov, like many artists, dreamed of a future profession since his school years, but did not listen to the call of his soul, and decided to master the profession of a philologist. But fate decided to correct this mistake, and he nevertheless became an artist of cinema and theater, People's Artist of Russia.
Mikhail Filippov was born in 1947 in Moscow. Since childhood, he dreamed of performing not in a simple theater, but in a puppet show - he was so captivated by the action taking place on the stage.
However, after school, Mikhail applied for and went to the philological faculty of Moscow State University, hesitating to go to the theater. He studied in the building on Mokhovaya Street, and across the street in two theaters at once, the actors lived many different lives on the stage. Of course, it was interesting for the students to watch the performances of Zakharov and Rozovsky, but not only: some of them passed an audition there, which Filippov once attended.
He passed the test and became a student at the Nash Dom theater studio. Future stars rehearsed with him: Gennady Khazanov, Alexander Filippenko, Semyon Farada and others. All the young artists were so devoted to the stage that they only went home to sleep, disappearing in the theater for long hours.
In 1969, the theater "Our House" was closed for too critical performances and satirical evenings. Filippov at that time studied at the 4th year of philology, and could no longer live without theater. Therefore, he applied to GITIS, and he was taken to the second year. After graduation, he entered the service at the theater. Mayakovsky - childhood dreams began to come true.
Film career
At the age of 28, Mikhail played his first role in a movie - it was the film “Red and Black” (1976), and the already famous Nikolai Eremenko Jr., Natalya Belokhvostikova, Natalya Bondarchuk were on the same stage with the young actor. It was a good school of practical professionalism.
After "Red and Black" in his portfolio there were only performances and short films, and this situation continued for quite a long time, more than ten years.
In the 80s, Filippov starred in several films. And although the roles were significant, and the audience remembered the actor, however, the roles were still unlucky. And only in the last decade of the twentieth century, fortune changed from anger to mercy, and Filippov was overwhelmed with work. His creative biography became richer for such roles as Pyotr Chaadaev in the "Sukhovo-Kobylin Affair" and Count Panin in the historical film "Russian revolt." and Children of the Arbat.
Today Filippov plays at the Mayakovsky Theater and starred in the TV series Tell the Truth.
Personal life
Filippov's first wife is Irina Andropova, the daughter of a famous party leader of the times of the USSR, General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee. They had a son, Dmitry, but the couple divorced after 17 years of marriage.
At almost forty years old, Mikhail Ivanovich married the actress Natalya Gundareva, with whom he lived a happy 19 years, until the death of Natalya Georgievna. He was very worried about this loss, and in memory of his beloved wife he published a book of memoirs "Natasha".
Filippov's third wife is Natalya Vasilyeva, who works with him in the same theater. She is almost twenty years younger than her husband, but this does not in any way affect the mutual understanding of the spouses, there is complete harmony in their family.
