By analogy with the English word "band" - an orchestra, a musical group, a gang - Russian rock bands and jazz ensembles call themselves "gangs", each of which necessarily acquires a special name. As a rule, the choice of a name depends on the leader of the group, but in some cases the rest of the gang members are involved in this business.

Step 1
Borrow the name from Italian. If there are nine or fewer of you (and groups rarely have more than six members), let the first name be an Italian word for number. These are the words: two for a duet, three for a trio or terzet, four for a quartet, five for a quintet, six for a sextet, seven for a septet, eight for an octet, nine for a nonet. It is enough to use not the whole word, but the part with the root.
Step 2
For the second part, use the name of the style in which you are playing or a general hobby that is not related to music, for example: "Quart Anime", "Tolkien Quintet" or the like. Humor is appropriate in such cases, but use it less - after all, this is your name, it should be understandable to many, and not only to the elite.
Step 3
Remember everything that connects you, for example, geographic location. The members of the group do not always live in the same city, but if you are lucky, then it's a sin not to take advantage. Approximately according to this principle, the "Virtuosos of Moscow" were named; you can also use the name of your hometown.
Step 4
Use other factors that unite you: love for certain animals, study at a certain university or level of education, ideals in music and in life. It is better to put the theme of the songs aside, because over time, the current problems will no longer be of interest to you, and it will be impossible to change the name.
Step 5
Come up with several titles. If you are able to choose one option yourself, then filter out the excess in three steps: first leave 10% of the original names, then select only one option and use it. If not, use the drawing of lots: write all the names on the same sheets of paper, put them in a bag, mix them. Take out the first one you come across and use as the name of your gang.
