Biography

John was born into a full-fledged family. His father, Donald Leibovitz, was a physics professor at college, and his mother, Marian Laskin, taught at school and was an educational counselor. However, a little later, the relationship between the boy's parents began to deteriorate. When John was only 11 years old, they decided to divorce. He began to live with his mother and practically did not communicate with his father, whom he considered a traitor for a long time. It was because of this that John subsequently abandoned his real surname, taking his middle name instead. In addition, John had a sibling, Lawrence, with whom he spent a lot of time as a child, playing football and hide and seek.

When the boy went to school, he was constantly persecuted by anti-Semitic bullying, because his entire family had Jewish roots. However, John rarely paid attention to it. He was madly into history, reading books and journalism. In high school, in parallel with his studies, the young man worked with his brother in a store, but soon he was fired due to insufficient focus on the work process.
