Linda Lee Cadwnll is the only woman who conquered the heart of the legendary Bruce Lee, creating a family with him. They are completely different people, but managed to stay together until Bruce passed away.
The only lover and wife of Bruce Lee, the famous fighter and film actor, was Linda Emery. She is Anglo-Swedish by birth.
Childhood and youth
Linda was born in Everett, Washington on March 21, 1945, to a Baptist family. The girl met her future husband in 1962 at the Garfield High School in Seattle. Linda studied there, and Lee was invited to give several lectures.
Miss Emery turned seventeen. Bruce was five years older than her. At the University of Washington, he taught philosophy and kung fu. Thanks to the union with the master, his chosen one also gained fame. She is a teacher by education.
An attractive blonde who came to study could not leave the young man indifferent. After the beginning of Linda's training, the teacher also did not last long. He was the first to date the girl. And she did not remain indifferent, which is not surprising: the muscular, broad-shouldered and confident handsome man did not give a chance to resist.
As a result, a romance began. Two years later, he happily ended with a wedding: Linda agreed to the proposal.
Love and marriage
In 1964, Linda and Bruce became husband and wife. But not everyone was happy about the news. The bride's parents strongly opposed. They were embarrassed by the nationality of their daughter's chosen one. However, the lovers managed to defend their feelings and overcome prejudices.
For Lee, his wife became more than just a beloved woman. She gave him two children, supported him in all endeavors, becoming his support and reliable friend. They lived nine happy years, remaining together until the sudden and to this day the mysterious death of a martial artist.
Bruce reached the pinnacle of his career during his family life. Thanks to her, he achieved stunning success. He was confident that he could handle everything. And he really did everything.
Happy life
Lee quickly became one of the highest paid trainers in the country. Hollywood stars aspired to study with him. The cost of a single workout exceeded two hundred dollars.
In parallel, Bruce starred in film and television, however, in secondary or episodic roles. An ambitious enough person was not happy with this situation. Later in Hong Kong, Lee was still offered the lead role in the movie "Big Bruce". All the scenes of battles and fights in the film were staged by the master himself.
The success has been tremendous. Lee has grown into a sought-after and popular actor. However, even his ever-growing popularity was not a reason for him to leave karate. Bruce began to develop his own style, jeet kune do, "the way of the leading fist." It consisted of combinations of elements of various combat systems.
In the marriage, Linda and Bruce had two children. The son became the eldest. They named him Brandon. The youngest is a daughter, Shannon. Children Brandon was born in 1965. Four years later, his younger sister was born.
From the earliest times, the father began to train his son. Growing up Brandon continued his father's path. He mastered martial arts remarkably, became a great actor. Unfortunately, his life was cut short as tragically early as that of Lee senior. Brandon died while filming The Crow in 1993 at the age of twenty-eight.
When her father died, Shannon was a baby. But this did not become an obstacle to preserve his memory. At first, the girl took up vocals. However, she later repeated the path of her brother and father. There are about a dozen paintings on her list.
Some of them are biographical. However, there are exclusively box office tapes such as "Cage", "Blade", "High Voltage". Shannon currently heads the father's nonprofit foundation. The organization is dedicated to promoting his philosophy and popularizing the martial arts.
Lee's tragic death
Happiness ended abruptly. At twenty-eight, Linda became a widow. Bruce died on July 20, 1973. The news horrified the whole world. The loving wife experienced a real shock. There were many versions about the mysterious death of the master.
To this day, disputes on this topic do not subside. The official reason is called death from brain edema caused by an allergy to the medication taken. However, rumors continue to circulate. Among them are the revenge of the Triad, which overtook Bruce many years later, and the murder by competitors, and the curse of the house where he lived.
The Grand Master is buried in Seattle in Lakeview Semetri Cemetery. An inscription is engraved on his monument stating who rests under this slab and that his inspiration leads people to victory over their weaknesses.
The son is buried not far from the father. Admirers visit the graves often. They pay homage to a person who has turned upside down the idea of martial arts that existed before him.
Life goes on
After the incident, Mrs. Emery-Lee was able to recover and move on. It was necessary to raise the children to their feet. But she did not forget her beloved. As best she could, Linda continued his work. She made films about her husband, wrote books. All this was done so that the world did not forget about Lee.
She was engaged in the development of the style developed by Bruce until 2001. Jeet Kune Do is currently taught by daughter Lee Shannon. For the second time, Linda married Tom Bleecker only fifteen years after the death of her beloved.
The unsuccessful marriage lasted two years. Yet Lindas managed to regain happiness. She is currently her partner, Bruce Cadwell. The wedding took place in 1991. Since then, the couple have been together.
