Eurovision is a music competition held annually and broadcast on television. It can be attended by one participant from each country of the European Broadcasting Union. The broadcast is made not only in Europe, but also in those countries that do not even participate in the competition (India, Egypt, Vietnam, Jordan and many others).
Instructions
Step 1
The current rules for the Eurovision Song Contest are somewhat different from those that were in force at the time of the presentation of the very first contest. It took place in 1956 in the Swiss city of Lugano. Initially, there were only 7 participating countries, each performer chose two songs. Later, only 1 composition was accepted from each. This tradition has survived to this day.
Step 2
This competition has a few more basic rules. Firstly, the performer and his song are selected in the country itself participating in the Eurovision Song Contest. The musical composition is presented at the competition exclusively "live", that is, without a phonogram. When all the participants sing their songs, the audience voting begins. It lasts for 15 minutes, during which everyone chooses their favorite performance. However, some restrictions apply, namely: the viewer will not be able to choose a song and a singer from their country.
Step 3
The jury counts all votes and summarizes them by country (for example, separately for Russia, Italy, France, and so on). The winner will be the country that gets the most votes. It is she who will receive the right to host the next Eurovision Song Contest.
Step 4
The rule about the language of performance is also quite remarkable. In the eighties and nineties, it was believed that the performer should sing the song only in the state language of his country. Then this restriction was removed, and since 2000, the participant can choose a song in any language he wants to sing.
Step 5
Eurovision has its own records, more precisely, champions. Among them, the country that has won the most victories is Ireland. She won the competition as many as 7 times. The next three, it is almost as good as Ireland - Great Britain, France and Luxembourg. Each of these countries won 5 times. Great Britain was noted in one more nomination: the country that hosted Eurovision more often than others (8 times).
