The early years of Mineev

Vladimir Mineev was born into a family of doctors. Despite the fact that his parents predicted a medical career for him, he went the path of an athlete, unlike his older brother. His first coach was Evgeny Golovikhin. The father himself brought the 9-year-old boy to the sports section, as he was simply tired of his son's constant fights. Spilling out energy in training, Evgeny no longer had enough strength to fight outside the walls of the sports section. When Mineev was 14 years old, his father died, and it was Evgeny Vasilyevich who became his support. He helped him not only morally, but also financially.

Once a boxer came to the village where Vladimir lived. And it so happened that Mineev had a fight with him. Having received several blows to the head, the young man decided to master the boxing technique. Golovikhin introduced him to coach Vladimir Merchin, who taught Thai boxing. A year after the start of classes, Vladimir became the first in the Thai boxing championship.

In parallel with training, Vladimir graduated from the Ulyanovsk school and entered the Agrarian University. In 2014 he received an engineering degree. Having received higher education, he began to devote more time to sports.

Mineev's sports career

In his native Ulyanovsk, Mineev won fights one after another, and when there were no more defeated sparring partners left, he left to conquer Moscow. Vladimir achieved his first global success in 2008, when he won a gold medal at the Russian kickboxing championship. After this victory, he was invited to the national team. Then there was a victory at the European Championship in Portugal. But not everything was so rosy: at the final match in Austria, Mineev was defeated and took second place.

To support his family, Vladimir Konstantinovich was forced to leave boxing for professional kickboxing. In this sport, he received the WAKO Pro world champion title. From 2011 to 2014 Mineev performed in the rings of different countries. During this period, he became the champion of Europe WBKF, world champion according to WKA and WKN. In 2014, fans first saw him sparring in mixed fights.

Mineev's current life
