Strauss's music is festive, melodic, danceable … When his famous waltzes sound, the hearts of listeners bloom with the joy of life.
A family
His father was a famous composer. And he achieved a lot in his life with his talent. But he categorically did not want his son to continue his father's work. Johann Sr. did not tolerate rivalry and wanted his son to become an economist. Johann the Younger had to submit to his father's will, but thoughts of music could not leave him.
Johann Strauss was born in the early 19th century (October 25, 1825) in Vienna. From the age of six he was fascinated by the sounds of waltzes. Knowing that his father would not allow him to take the violin in his hands, he secretly went to a music school. Education in those days was on a paid basis. And Johann had to give piano lessons for money. His mother supported him in everything. Already at the age of 19, he was able to assemble a chapel, where he was a conductor. But when my father found out about this, life changed dramatically. Johann Sr., enraged by this event, filed for divorce from his wife and left the family, leaving no means of subsistence.
The youngest Johann had to work in cafes and casinos. But love for music gave strength.
Career and creativity
The composer was passionate about dance music and was able to make it very popular. In the days of the revolution he became famous thanks to his marches and the famous "Marseillaise". But his father's envy hindered the young composer. And only after the death of Johann the Elder in 1848, he led his orchestra. And he became a conductor. And three years later the orchestra was presented to the court of Emperor Franz Joseph l.
In Russia, his talent was also appreciated. For five years he performed at the Pavlovsky railway station. And the audience was always delighted.
At the end of the sixties, Johann creates his most famous waltzes, in which the spirit of Vienna is felt. Such wonderful works as "Tales from the Vienna Woods", "Blue Danube" gave him unheard of success.
Personal life
Johann experienced the first serious feeling in Russia for Olga Smernitskaya. But her parents did not approve of this relationship. There were many novels in the composer's life. But at the age of 37 he married an older woman in Vienna. Her name was Yetti Trefz. She became a faithful companion and like-minded person. Yetty supported her husband in all endeavors and inspired him. She was a muse to him. Yetty pushed Johann to write not only waltzes, but also operettas.
After the death of his wife, Strauss married a young Angelica Dietrich. But the marriage was unsuccessful. And only the third time did he find solace in an alliance with Adele Deutsch.
In recent years, Strauss practically did not leave the house. Johann died of bilateral lung replacement at 73, without completing work on the ballet "Cinderella".
