Escobar's biography

In December 1949, a third child was born to a respectable Colombian family, who was named Pablo. In a few decades, this boy will become known to the whole world as the most arrogant drug lord, ruthless killer and terrorist Pablo Escobar.

Escobar started small. As a young boy, he began to hang out in the poor districts of the Colombian city of Medellin, building his dizzying "career" in the underworld. At first, these were petty thefts from gaping passers-by, and then Escobar switched to extorting money from peers, often with the use of violence. This did not go unnoticed by other hooligans, and they reached out to the cruel teenager like moths to the light. So Pablo Escobar became the leader of his own gang.

In the company of newly made friends, Escobar reached a new level: street robberies, raids on shops and the sale of marijuana began. For the members of the gang, it was easy and huge money, but their amount did not satisfy the ambitions of Pablo himself. Theft of expensive cars for subsequent disassembly for parts has become a new round of career growth.

By 1971, Escobar's gang already had a fairly strong weight in the criminal world of Medellin. To strengthen its position, the group kidnapped the famous industrialist Diego Echavarria for ransom. Prolonged torture did not lead to anything, and a few days later Diego was killed and the body was thrown away in one of the dumps in Medellin. The residents of the city, who became impoverished because of this businessman, upon learning of his death, could not contain their joy, and Pablo became a respected member of society, who began to be called "El Doctor". The vain thug liked this and he even built several cheap shacks for the poor, posing as the local Robin Hood.

Drugs

Robberies and robberies did not bring a lot of money, and then Escobar decided to try his hand at the main "industry" of Colombia in those years - the drug trade. As a courier, he penetrated a huge cocaine network and firmly established himself there. Later he became an intermediary between the producers and sellers of the "deadly potion". Feeling that a lot of money is passing by, "El Doctor" decided to build his own cocaine empire.

The endless jungles of Colombia were rich in cocaine bushes, and under the dense greenery of palm trees one could easily hide the production of any poison. After setting up a couple of laboratories, Pablo began to establish supply chains. The reliable supply of quality product to neighboring countries has attracted the attention of American drug dealers and investors. From that moment on, the life of a novice drug lord changed abruptly, American dollars flooded into the pockets of Escobar and his henchmen.

Politics

They came with big money and much bigger ambitions. The criminal decided to take a seat in the Colombian government and actually legalize his profitable business. He was actively involved in social activities, even acted as a model, taking photos for advertising campaigns for exclusive cars, which he loved and collected very much. In 1982, he got his seat in Congress and, having finally settled there, began to think about the powers of the president.

Other congressmen actively interfered with such plans, condemning the very idea of pouring "cocaine" money into the budget. In addition, the popularity of the Medellin "Robin Hood" outside the city was at zero - of course the whole of Colombia had heard about it, but no one had any respect for such a dubious figure.

Justice Minister Rodrigo Lara Bonillo, who launched a campaign against drug capitals and Escobar personally, achieved some success in 1984. Through his efforts, the ambitious drug dealer was ousted from Congress. Accustomed to living by the principle of "Silver or Lead", Escobar could not forgive humiliation, and in April of the same year Bonillo was killed by his thugs. But the story did not end there.

The country's government has already launched an active process to combat any manifestations of drug trafficking, and have reached an agreement with the United States. "Uncle Sam" sent the best DEA and drug police officers to fight criminals in Colombia. All the "hucksters" who somehow participated in the export of drugs were expelled to the United States, where they fell into the arms of America's drug-ruthless judicial system.

Terror

Insulted by the behavior of the Colombian authorities, Pablo Escobar actually declared war. On the streets of cities, especially in Medellin, attacks began on employees of the administration, officials and police. The bandits did not spare anyone. Despite the "muscle flexing", Escobar could no longer live peacefully even in his hometown, he had to constantly hide, as he became the number one target for the security forces of Colombia and the United States.

Pablo tried several times to find a compromise - once he even offered the government to pay the country's external debt from his own money in exchange for immunity. In 1989, there was another attempt. The drug lord announced that he was ready to surrender to justice, subject to serving his sentence in Colombia. But all his proposals were rejected, and the country was again swept by a wave of violence.

The offended bandit with even greater cruelty began to destroy "enemies" in the person of well-known Colombian politicians and security officials. In November 1989, a presumptuous criminal detonated a passenger plane, targeting one of the congressmen. More than a hundred people died. With this insane act, Escobar signed the final verdict on the Medellin Cartel.

After the explosion, massive raids took place across the country: everyone who had anything to do with the cartel was detained, drug laboratories were destroyed, coca plantations and a ready-to-eat "product" were burned. Some of the people close to Pablo were captured by the security forces as part of a secret special operation, for example, his chief sicario (killer) Mosquera.

To take a break, Escobar took an unusual step: he announced that he was ready to surrender and go to prison, but on condition that he would be kept in "La Catedral", a "prison" specially built by Escobar himself. The authorities also needed a break from the endless terror in the streets, and they agreed. For a while, the drug lord did not cause any problems. True, in "his" prison there was everything: drinks, games and available mistresses, he could leave the territory in a special van and come back at any time. At the same time, US special agents and Colombian security officials were prohibited from approaching La Catedral closer than three kilometers. This was the price the state authorities paid for the safety of their citizens from the mad murderer.

But the Pablo cartel continued to work. The bandit “laundered” money with the help of football, quietly leaving prison for matches, and his favorite, Renault Higuit and other team members from his hometown, were always welcome guests in a luxurious “prison”. Thanks to Escobar's dubious aid, which included not only money, but also the killing of competitors, Atletico Nacional from Medellin became the first Colombian champion in America.

The quiet life of Pablo Escobar came to an end when the current president of the country, Cesar Gaviria, learned about what was happening on the territory of the so-called prison. It turned out that Escobar, allegedly in prison, accused several influential people of major thefts and personally executed them. Gaviria ordered the military to surround the bandit's fortress and take Escobar alive, for subsequent imprisonment in an ordinary prison. But by the time the troops arrived, the criminal had left La Catedral with several henchmen.

Over the next year of the leader's wanderings, by 1993, the cartel finally disintegrated, this was facilitated by the military operations of the US military and agents, plus the newly-made Cali cartel entered the game, which also sought to destroy Escobar, ensuring its unhindered growth.

On his birthday, December 1, Escobar made a fatal mistake: during a telephone conversation with his family, he allowed the special services to calculate his whereabouts. There was little left to do - to eliminate the fugitive criminal, and the next day he was eliminated by the joint efforts of the Colombian military and agents of the US DEA.

Princess manuela

Pablo Escobar, as befits any decent citizen, especially with presidential abmirations, was a family man. He met his beloved in 1974. His future wife Maria Victoria was barely thirteen. A couple of years later, they played a gorgeous wedding. In 1977, their first child was born, and in 1984 - a daughter, who was named Manuela. Despite the fact that at that time Pablo had a mistress, journalist Virginia Vallejo, who scandalously accused President Juan Manuel Santos of embezzling American money, the "Cocaine King" loved his baby very much and was ready to fulfill her whims at any cost.

What is the well-known story about the unfortunate horse, which, through simple operations, by nailing a horn and sewing on wings, was turned into a unicorn that the "princess" dreamed of. True, the "unicorn" lived for a few days, dying from blood poisoning. And when, once again hiding from justice, the daughter froze to death in the forest, a caring killer father burned money to keep her warm.

After the death of Pablo, Maria fled to Argentina with her children, and for some time she successfully managed to hide her past. But all the secret becomes clear, and the woman and her son were arrested, and the daughter learned about her bloody legacy. Manuela was 14 years old.

The girl, rumored to have a lot of money left to her from Escobar (Wikipedia claims that it is about $ 3 billion), has completely closed herself from the public, and does not want to come into contact with journalists, because many people survived who dream of revenge on her family for the grief caused by Pablo to their loved ones. She changed her name to Juana Manuela Marroquin Santos. According to rumors, she changed her name more than once and nothing is known about the current fate of the bloody criminal's daughter, whom he called "my little princess".

Escobar's son, Manuela's brother, unlike her, does not hide from the public, and in 2009, together with his mother, he starred in the documentary autobiography "Sins of My Father", where he gave an extensive interview and asked for forgiveness for all the evil that his dead father had, " icon "of the underworld, inflicted on people. This, of course, is not the only film about the drug lord - many books, films and TV series are dedicated to him.
