The popular Soviet and Russian poet Yevgeny Rein is also known as a prose writer. One of the most significant literary figures of the last century, who belonged to Anna Akhmatova's social circle, gained fame as a screenwriter.
Anna Akhmatova greatly influenced the work of the writer Yevgeny Borisovich Rein. The poet did not break off friendly relations with Joseph Brodsky until the end of his life.
Searching for a vocation
The biography of the future writer began in 1935. The child was born on December 29 in Leningrad in the family of an architect and a German language teacher.
Boris Grigorievich died during the Great Patriotic War. Maria Isaakovna with her son returned from evacuation to the hometown of the future writer. After leaving school, the parent persuaded Yevgeny to continue his education at the Lensovet Technological Institute.
The student immediately realized that he did not like the proposed specialty at all. However, the talented Rein took an active part in the publishing of the wall newspaper and studied well. In the fifth year, he left the university. The young man completed his studies at the Technological Institute of the Refrigeration Industry.
Raine then made his own choice. He entered the Higher scriptwriting courses. The writer has written scripts for more than two dozen documentaries. The most famous became "Chukokkala". The film told about the handwritten almanac published by Korney Chukovsky from 1914 to 1969. It included many autographs and sketches of famous contemporaries.
The career of the future poet began in the Far East. The young specialist worked in a geological party. A trip to Kamchatka was a real test. During this journey, Rhine gained invaluable experience. Then he worked in factories in his hometown. Produce the works of Ilya Selvinsky and Eduard Bagritsky, as well as Vladimir Lugovoi, to create a huge impact on the work of a novice author.
Life's work
In the sixties, a meeting with Joseph Brodsky took place. Eugene, who made friends with him, became one of the Akhmatov orphans or the Magic Choir, along with Naiman and Bobyshev. Anna Andreevna became a real mentor for young poets. She taught them a kind of electives, during which an amazing atmosphere of creativity was created.
In 1971 the poet moved to Moscow. In 1974, the writer began work on a book of poems. For her, Rhine used the prosaization of the poetic form. He strove to preserve the energy potential of his lyrics, masterly wrote in blank verse, invented "sliding lines". In his poem "Nanny Tanya" there is a parallel with the famous Arina Rodionovna. Rein's poems are marked by innovation. In them, the penetration of autobiography is combined with the poetry of form.
In 1979 he began collaborating with the Metropol almanac. Evgeny Borisovich was engaged in the translation of poetry. The poet's works were often published in Western editions "Continent", "Grani", "Syntax", were published in his homeland in samizdat. For a long time he created scripts for documentaries.
In 1984, the first collection of poems by the writer "Names of Bridges" appeared. In the poetic revelations of the writer, one can see an orphan childhood and a woeful maturity. At the same time, the poems breathe pristine freshness. Often, the author arranges a kind of roll call with the cinema of the names of the poems.
The literary hero is usually in the midst of the crowd, while remaining lonely. There are many everyday details in Rhine's works. The poet is not afraid to introduce the absurdity of urban communal apartments into his poems, he divides kindness with rudeness. Since the end of the eighties, the publication of the author's poems began in his homeland. His memoirs have been published. The books "Tenderness", "Irreparable Day", "Darkness of Mirrors", "Boot", "Labyrinth" were published.
Film and Literature
In the nineties, the poetry of the Rhine was supplemented by the historical life. Even recent events are described with the maximum distance, even insignificant facts acquire global proportions. While observing the passage of time, the poet yearns for every moment.
The main creative genre of the Rhine was and remains the urban elegy of the last century. Even in love lyrics, urbanistic details are noticeable, giving the poetry sincerity and realism.
Among the most striking film projects include the documentary film "Tram-Remembrance" by the script by Yevgeny Borisovich. The film shows the touching story of an ordinary tram. This type of transport is becoming a thing of the past, retaining the status of a bright hero of bygone days. The picture seems to say goodbye to the past century. It contains the works of his most famous poets. The film was released in 2005.
Rein put a lot of work into Blanc's drama Arturo Ui's Career. A new version "based on Brecht's play" The Career of Arturo Ui, Which Could Not Be ". Songs were written for the film on the verses of Evgeny Borisovich.
A family
The personal life of the author was not easy either. His first chosen one was Galina Mikhailovna Narinskaya. The family has a child, daughter Anna. She chose a journalistic career for herself. When the girl turned 10, her parents broke up.
The second wife of the writer was the translator Natalia Ruvinskaya. In alliance with her, a son, Boris, appeared. He later graduated from the bookselling institute, works in this direction of business. His parents lived together for 9 years.

Yevgeny Rein himself teaches at the Gorky Literary Institute, directs a poetry seminar. In 2004, the writer took part in the World Poetry Readings held in Malaysia.
