Biography
Branislav Ivanovich was born in February 1984 on the twenty-second in the small Serbian town of Sremska Mitrovica. From an early age he was very active and dreamed of playing football. In the 90s, Serbia was going through a severe political and economic crisis, and nevertheless little Branislav managed to find a place for himself in the football environment. He started his career at the football academy of the "Repair" club.
Career
In the early 2000s, the young athlete made his debut as a professional footballer for the Remont club. In 2002 he moved to Srem, which was based in Ivanovich's hometown. In 19 matches, he managed to prove himself well in the football environment and even scored two goals, which is very good, considering that Ivanovich is a defender.
Quite good results allowed a beginner, but very promising footballer to change his job to a more prestigious one. In 2003 he moved to the OFK club. 55 matches and five goals scored drew the attention of foreign clubs to the rising star. Of all the hunters for a talented defender, the most agile was the Russian club Lokomotiv, and in 2006 Branislav moved to Russia. For a season and a half in the Russian team, in 2007, he first won the prestigious trophy - the Russian Football Cup.
Since 2008, the Serbian defender's career has continued in the homeland of football at the London club Chelsea. In the team of Roman Abramovich, the Serb spent ten long years, during which he managed to achieve considerable success. Ivanovic became the champion of the Premier League of England three times, won the FA Cup three times, and in 2009 became the owner of the Super Cup. But the main trophy of the Old World, the Champions League Cup, he lifted over his head in 2012.
Chelsea had never won the Champions League before, and no one would have thought of betting on them in 2012. The club experienced serious problems - right in the middle of the season, the head coach was removed, and his place was temporarily taken by assistant Roberto di Matteo. He managed to create a real miracle. Having beaten the formidable Barcelona during the season, he led his team to the final battle against German Bayern at their home stadium. Within 90 minutes, it was not possible to identify the winner, the added thirty did not help either, the fate of the cup was decided in a penalty shootout.
Over the years spent in the Blues' camp, Branislav became an integral part of the team, but with the arrival of a new coach, it turned out that the team no longer needed him and at the end of 2016 he left Chelsea. Since the new, then 2017, the athlete has signed a contract with the St. Petersburg club "Zenith", where he performs to this day.

The famous footballer has been married to Natasha Ivanovich since 2008. The couple have two sons: Duchamp and Stefan.
