Eleanor Sevenard is a Russian ballerina. She conquered the audience with her amazing expressiveness, grace and plasticity. The artist received prizes at the VII Vaganova-Prix International Ballet Competition, the Natalia Dudinskaya and Konstantin Sergeev Foundation, and was one of the laureates of the All-Russian Competition of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation “Young Talents”. Sevenard is a laureate of the Russian Ballet All-Russian Competition for Young Performers.
Eleonora Konstantinovna is the grand-niece of the famous Matilda Kshesinskaya, the legend of Russian ballet. In 2017, the young dancer took part in the gala concert “Icons of Russian Ballet”, “Gala of Ballet Schools of the XXI Century”.
Towards a calling
The biography of the performer began in 1998. The girl was born in St. Petersburg on August 22 in a family not directly related to the world of ballet. My father was engaged in the construction business, my mother is a historian. The girl's grandfather was also a hydroelectric engineer. Yuri Sevenard is the son of Celina, the niece of the great ballerina. Kshesinskaya's costumes were kept in the house for a long time. All of them were donated to the Museum of the Academy of Russian Ballet.
The baby made the choice of the future type of creativity at the age of 4, starting to study ballet. Elya entered the Agrippina Yakovlevna Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet at the age of 10. The talented student has repeatedly taken part in tours, danced in performances of the Mariinsky Theater. In 2015-2017 she performed the part of Masha in The Nutcracker.
The girl's mentor was Nikolai Tsiskaridze and Tatyana Udalenkova. The giftedness of the student was noticed immediately. Only later did the teachers find out that the promising dancer was a relative of Kshesinskaya. The rector of the institution, Tsiskaridze, even complained that this would significantly complicate the future with a bias towards Eleanor. Sevenard herself dreamed of the same grandiose success in art as her relative.
Elya graduated from the Academy, becoming the best graduate in 2017. In the senior class, the girl performed the part of Paquita. The rector himself offered the student the story of a girl who had lost contact with influential and famous relatives.
The Bolshoi and Mariinsky theaters sent an invitation to the young ballerina. The girl chose the metropolitan team. Sevenard began the 242nd season in it together with Yegor Gerashchenko, also a graduate of Tsiskaridze. After moving, she began her bachelor's studies, decided not to interrupt her education.
Success
Eleanor has danced in a huge number of productions on all the leading stages in the world. Everywhere she got the main games. The girl has already achieved significant success. She has won several prestigious awards. This list includes the first prize of the 3rd All-Russian Competition for Young Performers "Russian Ballet".
Her debut on the Bolshoi stage took place at the end of September 2017. Sevenard performed the part in the ballet Don Quixote. The ballerina's performance was called successful by both critics and spectators. October brought participation in "La Bayadere" and "Corsair".
Work in the theater took up almost all the time of a talented dancer. The girl preferred not to talk about her personal life, since the relationship was in the background. However, in the spring of 2018, information appeared in the press about the romance of the dancer and the premiere of Bolshoi Denis Rodkin. He has been with the Bolshoi Theater troupe for 10 years. He is a laureate of the President's Prize for his contribution to the preservation and enhancement of Russian choreographic art.
The young man drew attention to the bright girl during her studies. Then at the prom, Sevenard was introduced to him as a talented ballerina who will become a prima ballerina. A new meeting took place at an international ballet competition in 2016. Denis was its host, and Elya won the second prize.
Young people collided again during a trip to Greece with the Bolshoi troupe. Rodkin was injured, and the next morning a flight to Japan was planned. Until the very moment of her departure, Eleanor remained in Denis. She did her best to distract the guy from the thoughts of the sore leg and worried how a young man could dance at a Christmas concert with such an injury.
Life on stage and behind the scenes
After returning to the capital, the artist learned that they were dancing together in a production of Don Quixote. After rehearsals, the guy invited the ballerina on a date. Gradually, falling in love grew into real feelings. Joint pictures of the couple often appear on social networks. Both dance together in several performances.
In one of her interviews, Elya admitted that only Denis's presence at the Nutcracker performance, where Sevenard performed Masha for the first time, helped her to cope with her anxiety.
Lovers do not set themselves the goal of becoming partners in all performances. So far, Denis does not think of himself as a choreographer, staging for his favorite numbers, or a teacher. He dreams of dancing. But Elya herself calls Rodkin an excellent teacher. He is present at all performances of his beloved. After the demonstration, he discusses them, helps in performing the movements, shows how it is easier to perform them and makes his comments.
In 2017, Sevenard unwittingly found herself embroiled in an advertising campaign after the release of Matilda. The girl admits that she is proud of her ancestors, but her relationship to Kshesinskaya has no influence on her career.
Both Denis and Eleanor dream that soon they will talk about El not as a relative of Kshesinskaya, but as a talented ballerina of the Bolshoi. In their relationship, family history does not play any role. Together, young people try to spend as much time as possible. Denis considers Eleanor to be a reference companion in life. So far, young people do not plan to create a family and have a child. They call this decision very serious, but both agree that it will take a little time and they will accept it.
Both will take part in the Bolshoi's tour of London from 19 July to 17 August at the Royal Theater, Covent Garden.
