The shoes of the ECCO trademark, famous all over the world for their convenience and environmental friendliness, were nothing more than a small-town notion a few decades ago.
Back in 1963, unknown to anyone at that time, the manager of one of the small shoe factories in Copenhagen, founded his own business, having bought out an empty factory, which was located in the south of Denmark. The conditions for starting a new business were favorable, there was enough workforce in the city, and local authorities were interested in the prospect of expanding the local economy, and especially in obtaining new investments.
This is how the ECCO company appeared, which has existed to this day for over 50 years. It exceeded all expectations, the Bradebro factory is now one of the largest and employs a huge number of workers, and the name of the founder of one of the world's largest shoe companies will remain in history.
But in order to remain competitive, it was necessary to expand the business, for this reason, branches of the company were opened in other countries, the first was a factory for the production of tops, and later a company for the production of high-tech materials was opened, also under the leadership of ECCO.
In 1981, ECCO begins its active expansion in Europe and storms the market, opens a subsidiary company in Germany, and a year later the company receives a license to manufacture shoes in Japan, but the specialists remained the same from the Danish company.
So until the 90s ECCO expanded its production to the whole of Europe, and in 1990 their own representative office was opened in the USA.
The footwear of this company first came to Russia in 1993, presenting at once a whole line of various models, both for adults and for children.
Thus, the ECCO company, after so long after its appearance and recognition, has its branches and factories almost all over the world, some of them specialize in the production of certain materials that are supplied to other countries and from which finished products are made. The number of stores in Russia is expanding every year, and new branches appear in neighboring countries.
