Step 1
To make a sign that will not only attract attention, but also last a long time, you will need the following materials:
- Galvanized iron sheet (tin). Iron must be galvanized to avoid rusting. The dimensions of the sheet will depend on the size of the desired sign.
- Several wooden blocks. The size and number of bars can be calculated based on the estimated dimensions of the sign.
- Several cans of enamel, used for local painting of cars or any metal surfaces. The number and color of spray cans depends solely on your desire.
- Paper tape.
- Scissors for cutting metal, a hacksaw for wood or a jigsaw, a hammer, a marker or pencil, small and large nails or screws, an assembly stapler, a stationery (painting) knife.
Step 2
First of all, it is necessary to make the simplest wooden frame in the form of a frame from the prepared bars. After that, a sheet should be cut out of galvanized iron, 5-10 cm larger than the size of the frame, and "tighten" the frame, carefully tapping all sides with a hammer, and then attach the iron to the frame using nails, screws or staples.
Step 3
The next step is to paint the metal surface, after thoroughly cleaning and degreasing it, in the desired background color of the sign. After the paint is dry, cover the entire front side of the blank with paper tape, and stick the pre-printed text over it - each character separately. Using a sharp utility knife, cut through the outline of each character and remove the pasted text along with the tape. Here is a stencil of an almost finished sign.
Step 4
It remains to apply the paint of the desired color to the stencil, wait until it dries, and then remove all the tape. The sign is ready!
