Mora Lynn Tierney is an American actress and producer. Winner of the Golden Globe Award, Emmy and Actors Guild nominee. She began her film career in the late 1980s.

Mora was born in the winter of 1965 in the United States in a family of Irish Catholics. Her mother worked in real estate, and her father was involved in politics. He was a member of the Boston City Council and later its president. Mora was the first of three children.
Tierney graduated from Catholic high school for girls in Hingham. Then she entered the Notre Dame Academy.
Already in her school years, she began to study acting and theater arts, attending the Studio Square Theater School.

In 1993, Billy and Mora became husband and wife. They lived together for almost thirteen years, but divorced in 2006.
