Instructions

Step 1

Identify the goals that guide you when you want to start a foundation. It is possible that by founding such an organization, you really want to help the needy sections of the population, to which you also belonged. Often, foundations can be created in memory of relatives and friends who have passed away untimely.

Step 2

Define a line of business for the foundation. By organizing a fund, you will be able to engage in entrepreneurship, but on condition that all the proceeds will be directed to charitable needs.

Step 3

Draw up the charter of your foundation, based on the directions and goals of future activities. Hold a meeting of the founders of the foundation and put the charter you have drawn up to a vote. Prepare all information about the founders.

Step 4

Register a legal entity by contacting the tax authorities and submitting all documents. Get the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and statistics codes, register the seal of your foundation. Please note: not all foundations are tax-exempt. For example, you will most likely have to pay full VAT on all business income, even though it is charitable. However, income that you receive from other sources (for example, interest on capital formed before the foundation of the fund, but used to finance it) will not be taxed.

Step 5

Find premises for the foundation's offices. It is better to rent the premises for the head office in one of the buildings of the business center or in the historical part of the city. Register the name of the foundation with Rospatent.

Step 6

Contact your local Fed office to register the fund. You will need the following documents: - application (in 2 copies);

- original and 2 copies of the charter certified by a notary;

- certified information about the founders of the foundation (in 2 copies);

- minutes of the meeting of the founders of the fund (2 certified copies);

- letter of guarantee from the lessor;

- for funds not lower than the all-Russian level - minutes of congresses, conferences, etc.;

- a certificate confirming your right to use the name of the fund.

Step 7

No later than 30 days later, you will receive a certificate of registration of your fund in the department of the Federal Reserve System.
