Marina Vasilievna Kovtun was born on March 10, 1962 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents lived in the famous city of Murmansk. My father worked as a trawler on the ships of the fishing fleet. Social and political activities
In the early 90s, when the entire system of state power was reformed, Marina Kovtun was appointed a specialist in the regional department of social protection of the population. At that time, the legal framework was just being formed. It was difficult to solve current tasks and problems. In order not to take responsibility, Kovtun went to work in the regional administration. A year later, she was transferred to the Committee for Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Marina Vasilievna's administrative career was developing successfully. She completed a good internship at the Federal Tourism Agency. In 2009, an experienced manager was invited to the position of Deputy General Director of the famous Kola Mining and Processing Plant for HR. Two years later, Kovtun was elected a deputy of the regional duma. An experienced administrator, she headed the United Russia faction in the Duma. In April 2012, the President of the Russian Federation appointed Marina Vasilievna Kovtun as Governor of the Murmansk Region.
