There are different opinions and assessments about the heroes of the past. The Reds won the Civil War. It was not accepted to speak about the tragedy of the White movement in positive tones. Today the situation has changed and it is possible to have an impartial conversation. The main character is the ataman of the Don Cossack army Pyotr Nikolaevich Krasnov.
Serving the Fatherland
The history of the Cossacks is made up of episodes worthy of glorification and dubious companies, about which it is preferable to remain silent. The biography of Peter Krasnov, a hereditary Cossack and nobleman, serves as a clear example of this. The origin clearly prescribed military service for him. His narrow-minded ancestors came from the Don. By the time the child was born, the family lived in St. Petersburg. His father, with the rank of lieutenant general, served in one of the Directorates of the General Staff. Grandfather Ivan Ivanovich Krasnov took part in the Caucasian wars and was known as a talented writer and poet.
With such an enviable heredity, all doors were open to Petrusha Krasnov. The youth, brought up in strict rules, chose a military career and received an appropriate education. After graduating from the cadet corps, non-commissioned officer Krasnov entered the Pavlovsk military school. He swore allegiance to the Russian state and the sovereign-emperor. For people in his circle, the oath was not a mere formality. From now on, all his aspirations, personal life, dreams and aspirations have become inextricably linked with the fate of the Fatherland.
Routine army work began immediately after graduation. Service began in the Life Guards Ataman Regiment. It is important to note that at about the same time, Pyotr Nikolaevich began to write notes on topical topics and serious articles on military topics. There is nothing surprising or extraordinary here. In modern terms, genes made themselves felt. Observation, tenacious memory, analytical mind and psychological stability give him an outstanding personality.
Word and deed
The time comes, and Peter marries a young lady named Lida. The wife sings under a pseudonym at the Bolshoi Theater. The love of the spouses remained throughout their lives, despite the many hardships and hardships that they had to endure. A year after his marriage, in 1897, Krasnov was appointed chief of the convoy to guard the Russian diplomatic mission, which went to Abyssinia. The husband is leaving for almost a year. Traveling across Africa and European lands allowed the future general to learn how a distant country lives, about which many legends and tales have been composed.
At the turn of the 20th century, an executive officer and talented writer was sent to the Far East. He was tasked with observing and describing everyday life in the territories adjacent to Russia. The General Staff had already foreseen the still brewing conflict with Japan. Peter Krasnov, as a war correspondent, closely cooperates with the magazines "Bulletin of the Russian Cavalry", "Razvedchik", "Russian Invalid". Authoritative metropolitan publications willingly publish his materials.
During the First World War and the Civil War, Ataman Krasnov did not abandon literary exercises. For various reasons and circumstances, Pyotr Nikolaevich did not recognize the Bolsheviks as legitimate representatives of the authorities. After 1917, he devoted his entire life to the struggle against Soviet Russia. Moreover, during the Patriotic War, he worked closely with the Nazis. By the verdict of the Military Tribunal, he was executed in 1947. And the books, more than fifty in number, are freely published and, if desired, they can be read. Films were also made about the fate of the chieftain. Watching these tapes is hard, and not everyone will understand them.
