From the biography of Maxim Tsvetkov
The future Russian biathlete was born on January 3, 1992 in the city of Babaevo (Vologda region). Maxim began to go in for sports under the strict guidance of his father, who headed the Babaevskaya children and youth sports school. At first, the young athlete mastered cross-country skiing. Tsvetkov decided to try himself as a biathlete at the age of 15. And immediately took first place in the Polar Olympics competition, which were held in the Murmansk region.
By the age of 19, Maxim became one of the leaders in biathlon sports. In 2011, he took three gold medals at the Youth World Cup in the Czech Republic, a year later he distinguished himself in Finland. At almost every stage of the junior starts, Maxim climbed the podium. After a series of successes, the coaches of the Russian national team drew attention to the young biathlete.
However, Tsvetkov never limited himself to sports training. He understood perfectly well that a sports career would not last forever. Tsvetkov received a good education and a psychologist diploma: behind the shoulders of the athlete is the Moscow State University for the Humanities. A little later, Maxim decided to get a second education, enrolling in the capital's Academy of Physical Culture. He chose the specialty "Sports Management".
Success in biathlon
The career of a biathlete at the "adult" level was no less successful. Maxim took part in the 2013 World Cup. And at the very first competitions he took 8th place. For a debutant who competed with a hundred of the best biathletes in the world, this was a great achievement. The following year, Tsvetkov won his first big victory as part of the Russian relay team.
Maxim himself admits that he feels more confident in mixed starts and relay races than in individual races. He is spurred on by responsibility for a common cause and a collective spirit of struggle.
From start to start, Tsvetkov increased his successes and gradually became one of the leaders of the Russian national team. More than once he was very close to the podium, entering the prestigious "six" of the best athletes. Success is never easy. And every year the competition among biathletes is increasing. The results are so dense that the first and sixth places are separated from each other by only ten seconds.
In the career of any eminent athlete, there are major setbacks. Tsvetkov also had failures. But he doesn't despair. An athlete, with the help of coaches, carefully analyzes mistakes, makes changes to the training system and again rushes in pursuit of the coveted medals.
In January 2019, the Russian team won gold for the first time in several years in the relay at the World Cup, which was held in Oberhof. And again here Maxim Tsvetkov distinguished himself, who was instructed to run at the crucial first stage.
Personal life of Maxim Tsvetkov
Maxim Tsvetkov is one of the youngest members of the Russian national team. But he has already managed to start a family. In August 2014, the biathlete got married. Anastasia Serebryakova became his chosen one. The girl graduated from the philological faculty of the Vologda Pedagogical University. Young people met through social networks.
Nastya understands that being the wife of a world famous athlete is not easy. The spouses do not see each other too often - Maxim spends a lot of time at training camps and trainings. Maxim and Anastasia decided for themselves that in the future they would settle closer to Tsvetkov's homeland so that they could visit their relatives more often.
