Catherine began writing during her school years. Her grandmother had a great influence on the formation of the girl's interests. She was a writer, because from childhood she instilled in Catherine a love of literature and creativity.

The girl was born in the winter of 1942 in the United States. The family belonged to people of art. Mom was a pianist, father was a singer, musician and artist, grandmother was a writer.
From childhood, Catherine fell in love with creativity. The girl spent a lot of time reading books. She liked to discuss the books she had read with her grandmother, because she had been writing novels all her life, so she could tell a lot of interesting things to her granddaughter.
Catherine composed her first works during her school years. By the age of fourteen, the girl had already written several small stories and poems. Since all her works were about love, they were in great demand among friends and classmates.
After completing her primary education, Katherine continued her studies at the Department of Humanities at the University of Texas at Austin, choosing a literary direction. Then she entered Boston College, history department, where she studied European history.
During her student years, Catherine continued to write poetry and stories. After studying history, she had a desire to start writing a novel about the events of the past, filled with love affairs, intrigue and power struggles. But she came to writing her own books only after a few years.
After graduating, Coulter quickly found work at one of the prestigious companies located on Wall Street. Her responsibilities included writing speeches for the firm's management.
Once, after reading another love story, Catherine told her husband that she did not like the plot or the images of the main characters of the book at all. She said that she could write much more interesting. Then the husband suggested to Catherine to seriously think about writing her own work.
Throughout the weekend, Katherine and her husband spent the entire weekend coming up with the story of her upcoming romance, discussing the characters, setting and exciting storylines. Within a few days she sat down to write her first book.
Literary creativity
Catherine wrote her first novel in 1978. She sent the work to the publisher and after a few days received a response from the management. They were ready not only to publish her novel, but also to sign a contract for three more books if they were written by Catherine within a year. She agreed and literally the next day sat down to write the following works.
For four years, Coulter combined her main job with writing. She soon had enough money to leave the firm, where she continued to write executive speeches, and completely immerse herself in literary work.
In the future, Coulter began to combine all her novels in a series connected by storylines and main characters. To date, eleven episodes have been released: "Historical romance novels Baron", "Vikings", "Devil", "Star", "Magic", "Inheritance", "Bride", "Night", "Song", "Age of Regency", "Action-packed romance novels FBI agents."
Coulter also has several early works that were not included in the series.
Personal life
Katherine's husband was the doctor Anton Pogana. They got married in 1974. Since then, the couple have lived a happy family life in their own home in North Carolina with their beloved cat, Gilly. The couple has no children.
Catherine devotes many of her works to her husband. She believes that Anton has great intuition, a light hand and amazing patience. The husband always gives very good advice and becomes the first reader and critic of Coulter's new novels.
