Russian writers have developed a tradition - to create their masterpieces far from their native shores. The modern prose writer and playwright Yevgeny Klyuev has been living in Denmark for many years. At the same time, it does not break ties with Russia.
Starting conditions
According to some experts, a real writer doesn't need readers. It is enough for him to express his thoughts, feelings and ideas on paper. And then see your book on the shelf. Evgeny Vasilievich Klyuev does not refute this message, but he is in no hurry to agree with it. He writes his fairy tales, essays and stories, creating extravagant images and non-obvious plots. The writer "lures" the person who took the book into a funny game. But if the reader is not interested in this game, then the next meeting simply will not take place. And do not be upset about this.
The future literary collaborator was born on January 3, 1954 in an intelligent family. Parents lived in the famous city of Kalinin, which now bears its historical name Tver. My father worked at an engineering plant. Mother taught history at the university. Evgeny grew and developed, not standing out in any way from his peers. He learned to read early. The first poem that he learned by heart was called "My cheerful ringing ball." He loved to rhyme quite meaningful lines. I studied well at school. His favorite subject was literature.
Creative activity
After graduating from school, Klyuev decided to get a higher education at the Faculty of Russian Language and Literature at a local university. As a student, Eugene was actively engaged in literary creativity in the genre of absurdity. Friends and teachers were divided into two groups, expressing their attitude to the texts of Klyuev. Some refused to understand and accept his works. Others greeted the work of a fellow student with enthusiasm and fully approved. After graduating from the university, the certified linguist entered the postgraduate course at the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University.
After defending his Ph. D. thesis, Klyuev gave lectures to students at the University of the Russian Academy of Education for several years. In the early 90s, when reforms began in the country, Yevgeny Vasilyevich acted as the chief editor of the Mission newspaper. In 1996 he was invited to participate in an international research project in linguistics. The invitation was valid for three years, but after this period, the Danish authorities granted Professor Klyuev their citizenship. At the same time, the scientist did not lose ties with his homeland.
Recognition and privacy
Klyuev's writing and scientific career abroad was going well. Twice he received the Russian Prize for a novel and for a book of poetry. Klyuev's books are translated into all European languages. A book was recently published in Japan.
The writer's personal life can be told in a nutshell. Evgeny Vasilievich tried to start a family as a graduate student. The future husband and wife lived under the same roof for a year and a half and decided to leave. Klyuev has no children.
