Danny Worsnop is an English rocker who became famous as the vocalist of the rock bands We Are Harlot and Asking Alexandria. In addition, he is very successful in solo work. In May 2019, Worsnop's second solo album, "Shades of Blue", was released.
Arrival in Asking Alexandria and release of the debut album
Danny Worsnop was born on September 4, 1990 in the English county of Yorkshire. He spent his childhood in a small village, and here, at the age of six, he became interested in music. It is known that for quite some time young Danny studied guitar.
In 2008, Worsnop, then living in York, met Ben Bruce, founder of the metalcore band Asking Alexandria, online. They soon met and Ben took Worsnop into his project as rhythm guitarist. However, later it was decided that Worsnop would also play the role of vocalist.
Asking Alexandria's debut album "Stand Up and Scream" was released in autumn 2009 with the support of Sumerian Records. In the United States, the album peaked at # 4 on the Top Heatseekers and # 24 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart.
Further career
Asking Alexandria's second studio album, "Reckless & Relentless", was released in spring 2011. In English-speaking countries, the album was even more popular than the first disc. At some point, "Reckless & Relentless" even managed to reach number 9 on the famous Billboard 200 chart.
Asking Alexandria's third album, "From Death To Destiny", went on sale in August 2013. Of course, in this album, as in the two previous ones, Danny was the performer of all the vocals.
In early 2015, Danny tweeted that he was leaving Asking Alexandria in order to focus on working on his own project, We Are Harlot. And already in March of the same 2015, the first album of this group was released with Worsnop's vocals. It is known that five thousand copies of this album were sold in the United States in the first week.
However, in the future, Danny still returned to Asking Alexandria. Already in October 2016, he again began to perform the duties of the vocalist of this group (a native of Ukraine, Denis Shaforostov, who replaced Worsnop, for some reason could not gain a foothold in the composition for a long time).
On December 15, 2017, Asking Alexandria released their fourth album with Worsnop on vocals. Its name, by the way, coincides with the name of the musical group itself - "Asking Alexandria".
Solo creativity
Back in 2011, Worsnop posted a small snippet of his own composition "Photograph" on YouTube. Then, in an interview, he expressed the hope that the solo album would be completed by Easter 2014. But the dates were constantly postponed, and the album (its name is "The Long Road Home") was released only in February 2017. By the way, video clips were shot for two songs from this solo album - "Don't Overdrink It" and "High".
Not so long ago, on May 10, 2019, Worsnop's second solo disc, "Shades of Blue", was published (this phrase can be translated into Russian as "Shades of Blue"). Unlike the tracks of Asking Alexandria, the solo work of the vocalist cannot be called too heavy - it is, rather, blues-rock.
Personal facts
During his early years at Asking Alexandria, Danny led a clearly destructive lifestyle. Quite quickly, he became addicted to alcohol and drugs, constantly changing his mistresses. In 2011, Danny appeared on the stage in a strong alcoholic intoxication. To prevent this from happening again, the group sent their vocalist to a special rehabilitation course. After completing the course, Danny assured him that he was done with his wild past.
However, in 2013, he fell through again. As it became known later, in the winter of 2013, he drank a lot and also used drugs. It all ended with the fact that Worsnop again went through a rehabilitation course.
At the moment, the vocalist is dating a girl named Victoria. In August 2018, Danny and Victoria were engaged (the way he confesses his love to her and makes a marriage proposal can be seen in the video for the single "Angels"), and it seems that the matter is heading for a wedding.
