For more than half a century, American actor Jeffrey Jones has been serving theater and cinema. During this time, he created a huge number of images - so different that this range is simply amazing. Moreover, this is one of the amazing people who does not strive for fame and fame, for publicity and stardom.
Biography
Jeffrey Jones was born in 1946 in Buffalo. His father died when Jeffrey was still a toddler, so he grew up with his mother, Ruth Scully. She worked as an art critic and knew a lot about theater, cinema, and the profession of an actor. Conversations with her sunk into the boy's soul, and he gradually became carried away by the thought of the profession of an actor.
After graduating from high school, Jeffrey became a student at Lawrence University. Already there, he began to participate in university productions, and was a great success. So big that the famous theater director Tyrone Guthrie became interested in him. Soon, thanks to him, Jones was already in London, served in a theater in Minneapolis and studied to be an actor.
Then fate threw him to the Stratford Theater, and later he traveled with performances in England, South America and Canada, until he settled on Broadway, where he happened to play in productions with such stars as Meryl Streep, Sigourney Weaver, David Bowie and others.
Film career
Jones' first film work - an episode in the film "Revolutionary" (1970). After that, there was a series of series, where a prominent actor with an imperturbable face and an elusive note of humor in his voice looked great.
Critics appreciated Jones' talent, they began to write about him in the newspapers, and soon he was invited to the first negative role, which he had previously refused. However, his expressive look, high growth and fiery red hair determined this choice, and he had to appear before the audience in the image of the Emperor of Rome Joseph II in the "Amadeus" tape. Jeffrey played in such a way that almost every appearance on the screen became memorable. And his work in this picture is nominated for a Golden Globe.
The second role of the villain went to Jeffrey in 1986 in the film Ferris Bueller Takes a Day Off. He played it so expressively that he himself feared that the audience would transfer the image of the hero to himself - his hero Rooney was so disgusting, who by all means wanted to squeeze his subordinate out of the light. However, not every actor is given to choose roles from many proposals, so I had to play this one. But the audience was in awe of this film, and Jones became even more famous.
Another notable role of the actor is the role of Charles Dietz in the film "Beetlejuice". He played the owner of the house where the ghosts lived. After this film, Jeffrey worked extensively with director Tim Burton, and played the role of Amazing Criswell in his film Sleepy Hollow. The film was a resounding success, if only because, as the critics wrote, "stirred up the secret fears of people", showed them themselves.
Jeffrey Jones has so many different roles that it's impossible to list them all. Among his most recent works are the series Deadwood, the films Who's Your Cady and 10.0 is Big.
Personal life
Jeffrey Jones had a wife - vocal teacher Lloy Cutts from Canada. Geoffrey met her while serving at the theater in Stratford. Unfortunately, she passed away in 2008.
Jones has a son, Julian Cutts, who followed in his father's footsteps - he became an actor and film producer.
