On November 4, 1946, the future popular actor was born in the capital of our Motherland. Due to the creative atmosphere in the family, little Zhenya very quickly realized in which direction he would develop his adult life. While in high school, he actively participated in the life of the drama club, attended the drama theater, where his father worked.
After receiving a certificate of secondary education Karelskikh on the second attempt enters the legendary "Pike" on the course of Anna Orochko and Boris Zakharov. And in 1968, with a diploma in hand, he became a member of the troupe of the Mayakovsky Theater for two years, after which he transferred to the Moscow Academic Theater named after Yevgeny Vakhtangov, which is still his second home.
Today in the professional portfolio of the People's Artist of Russia there are already more than three dozen theatrical roles, among which the theatergoers well remember Prince Myshkin in The Idiot, Khrushchov in Leshem, Levin in Anna Karenina, Diomedes in Antonia and Cleopatra, Nil Stratonich in "Guilty Without Guilt" and others.
