Specifications form an integral part of a set of technical documentation for a product or product. In the absence of documentation, technical specifications must contain a full range of requirements for the manufacture, control and acceptance of products.

Technical specifications (TU) are documentation that establishes technical requirements for a product or a group of a specific product, product, material or substance. The TU should specify the procedures and actions by which it is possible to check whether the technical requirements have been met. TUs are developed by the decision of the manufacturer of industrial products or at the request of its consumer. For each specific product, product, material or substance, a code according to the OKP (All-Russian Classifier of Products) is indicated.
Development of technical specifications
The development of technical specifications begins at the moment when the manufacturer of the goods decides to release products not according to the state standard, but according to a special procedure. The need to develop technical specifications arises, including at the moment when there is no corresponding state standard. Technical conditions determine practically all stages of the production chain along which the entire process of manufacturing industrial products should take place.
Development and execution of technical specifications require special knowledge and skills from the contractor. The development of technical specifications is carried out in accordance with GOST 2.114-95 (unified system for design documentation) and GOST R 51740-2001 (general requirements for development and design).
The person who approves the technical specifications for the product is the owner and holder of the original specifications. The signature of the TU owner is in the upper right corner of the title page of the technical specifications. The owner of technical specifications for products a priori has the sole right to introduce changes to technical specifications. The right to make changes to the technical specifications can be transferred by agreement.
According to TU, products are certified, which results in a certificate of conformity.
What are TUs for?
To a large extent, technical conditions determine the quality level of a finished product or product at all stages of its life cycle (technical standards, production specifics, description of the manufacturing process, control methods, safety standards, environmental standards, transportation, use, storage and quality assurance). The buyer, as well as the final consumer of industrial products, in the presence of technical specifications, can judge the level of quality and the conscientiousness of the manufacturer.
As a result, the manufacturer is directly responsible for the conformity of the quality level of the finished product to the declared one. The success of industrial products on the market depends on how complete and informative the technical conditions are.
