Internet communication has its own specifics. But despite its differences from real communication, certain rules of etiquette must be observed in a virtual dialogue. Netiquette means that you can communicate with several people at the same time, which means your interlocutor should not demand excessive attention to himself. By following the rules of interactive communication, you will earn a reputation as a good and conflict-free network interlocutor.
Instructions
Step 1
If you go to your ICQ account and see that some people are online, this does not mean that everyone needs to write a greeting. Only greet the person with whom you really want to talk, and keep in mind that even if his status is "online", it is possible that he may be busy and your conversation will not be continuous.
Step 2
Internet communication is devoid of many non-verbal emotions, and therefore, in some cases, in order for the interlocutor to understand you better, use emoticons to emphasize your attitude to a particular phrase.
Step 3
When communicating in ICQ, follow the rules of the Russian language - use punctuation marks and do not write messages in capital letters, as on the network this is perceived as an increase in tone. If you want to end a thought, put a full stop after your phrase.
Step 4
A few exclamation marks can be good at expressing your strong emotions about something, and question marks can show that you or the other person does not understand what is being said and want to clarify the information.
Step 5
If you want to show thoughtfulness, put an ellipsis after the phrase. Depending on the context of your conversation, ellipsis can be interpreted differently. Do not abuse these signs - you cannot put ellipses and exclamation marks after each phrase.
Step 6
Be able to track in time when the interlocutor does not want or simply cannot communicate with you. If he answers in monosyllables, writes phrases like "OK" and does not continue the conversation, then it is quite possible that at the moment he is busy with something else. Always try to answer all the questions of the interlocutor, and only after that be silent, waiting for an answer.
Step 7
Never give your friend's ICQ number to another person without the owner's permission. Avoid using slang, obscene language and online abuse - just like in real communication, obscene language characterizes you in a certain way.
