Monitor your speech. Determine which words annoy you when communicating, and which ones do not like your interlocutors. Take your time and see if your conversation always ends the way you would like it to. Note for yourself where in the conversation it becomes difficult and uninteresting to communicate.

Observe how other people construct their speech. Often, if they want to humiliate the interlocutor, some people try to use words and expressions that cause negative reactions from themselves. Your observations will allow you to adjust the strength of your word by understanding what kind of speech patterns your opponent is using.

Work on yourself and remove from your vocabulary expressions that provoke a persistent negative reaction in you. As a rule, these are words and phrases that express directions, denials, speculation, assessment and threats. Remember that the other person is entitled to their own point of view. Do not mind, trying to interrupt him, express your opinion. Keep your words in check. In response to strange, interesting or, on the contrary, fundamentally incorrect and ridiculous statements, keep silent. So you can understand and quickly appreciate the new facet of the topic under discussion.

Keep in mind that truth is not born in every controversy. An unrestrained person scatters his words, which he later often regrets. In addition, he leaves an unpleasant impression of himself on the opponent.

Use phrase templates. There are times when you feel anxious when communicating or you just don’t know how to behave with some people. Make up verbal expressions in advance that, along with “thank you” and “please,” will allow you to maintain the conversation, not offend the interlocutor, and align the conversation. Memorize them and use them in your everyday communication.
