Chandra Wilson is an American actress, producer and director. She is best known for her role in the famous TV series Grey's Anatomy, where Chandra appeared on the screens as Dr. Miranda Bailey. For her work in this film, Wilson was nominated for several Emmy Awards and won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series.
Chandra's creative biography began with performances on the theatrical stage, and continued on television, where she played dozens of roles in popular TV series, including: "Law & Order", "Philadelphia", "Sex and the City", "The Sopranos", " Third shift”,“Anatomy of passion”. Childhood
The girl was born in America, Texas, in the summer of 1969. Chandra was raised by her mother, who gave birth to her at a very young age. To prevent her daughter from repeating her fate, mother from an early age tried to give her the opportunity to be creative, develop comprehensively and get a good education. The girl attended a dance studio, went to drama school, studied acting and even before school began to take part in filming on television.
Creative way
After graduating from high school, Chandra went to New York, where she entered the university. Then she was admitted to the famous Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, where she studied acting. A few years later, the girl appeared on the theater stage. She performed her first role in the theater in 1991 in the production Good Times Kill. Chandra had a breakthrough in acting after playing Dr. Miranda Bailey on Grey's Anatomy. She was invited to the shooting by director Shonda Rhimes and was not mistaken in his choice. Interestingly, according to the script, the heroine was supposed to be a slender blonde. But after passing the casting by Chandra, the director was so impressed with her acting and acting that the script was completely rewritten especially for her.
The film received huge ratings, and it was thanks to the performance of the role in this series that Chandra was able to fully devote her life to creativity, having quit the bank. The series has been a great success on television for many years and reappeared in 2018 under the title Grey's Anatomy: Team Two. For her work in the film, the actress was nominated four times for an Emmy Award. Another nomination in the category "Best Actress" went to her after the release of the series "Accidental Friendship".
Personal life
Chandra prefers not to mention her family life in an interview, and the name of her husband is still unknown to many. She married in 1988 and has three children. The eldest daughter is named Selena, the middle son is Joy, and the youngest is Michael.
